Toy recommendation for him

DH and I are starting to experiment a bit and he has enjoyed when I have played with his bum a bit and used a finger. I'd like to get a toy to experiment a bit further but no idea where to start!

Any recommendations (for something gentle I guess!) for a complete beginner in this area?! Thanks

I guess a small butt plug would do as a beginner. You can also get vibrating ones, and I think lovense do one that can be controlled remotely, so he could wear it with you controlling it from elsewhere. That might be for a bit further down the line tho.

I’d start with a small steel plug you can get them very cheap. Nice smoothness and weight and steel is a bit manly.

Try a TENGA egg (masturbation sleeve). It has ridges that simulate the ridges in the vagina, and the lube does not dissipate because it stays in the sleeve.
