Help!! Panicking!

ShannonO2 · 04/12/2024 10:58

My period started the 21st and finished on the 25th. On the 29th I had unprotected sex and he accidentally ended up finishing in me. I took the Morning After Pill on Saturday which was the next day. I have been experiencing some bloating and upper abdominal pain. What are the chances of me getting pregnant? I’m really worried.
My CD are also around 34/37 days long so could I ovulate within them 4 days of getting off my period?

Unlikely, and the bloating is probably a side effect of the MAP but, if you need more peace of mind, could you ask for an IUD too?

ShannonO2 · 04/12/2024 11:57

@NinaOakley I don’t really want an IUD. But I was just worried about getting pregnant 4 days after my period.

Unlikely.

Stargazer00 · 04/12/2024 14:02

How did he 'accidentally' finish inside you?! 🤔

ShannonO2 · 04/12/2024 14:09

@Stargazer00 No warning given when he was about to finish. He’s my long time partner so we dont use condoms because after finishing using them I get irritated with them. Managed just fine not getting pregnant for about a year and a half since having my son but normally I get warning from him or he pulls out but this time obviously he got cut short. But if you have no advice to give me then you don’t need to comment

Well, my advice would be to be more careful, and ideally either use protection ( you can buy different types of condoms if normal latex ones irritate you) or go on the pill. Otherwise you will forever run the risk of an unexpected pregnancy, even due to pre-cum.

But. it's unlikely you will be pregnant imo. this time.

Namechangeforthe · 04/12/2024 17:52

Day 1 is first day of your period
Day 9 unprotected sex
sperm can last approx 7 days which takes you to day 16
On a 34 day cycle you would probably ovulate around day 20 so you would expect to be safe by around 4 days plus the back up of morning after pill.

However sometimes our cheeky ovaries will pop an egg out early (happened to me and I have lovely DS as a result) and the morning after pill is not 100% effective so definitely do a pregnancy test if your period is late.

PinotPony · 04/12/2024 19:58

It’s unlikely you’re pregnant. Symptoms sound like they’re from the MAP.

The withdrawal method isn’t a great contraceptive though. Have you tried non-latex condoms or hormonal contraception?

ShannonO2 · 04/12/2024 20:00

@PinotPony I have and they just don’t feel right. As for contraception I was on it for about 3/4 years before I had my son and kept getting migraines and then was moved to so many different pills so I’m just worried that will start up again.

OP posts:
ShannonO2 · 04/12/2024 20:01

@Namechangeforthe I thought it was only 5 days sperm could survive x

5-7 days so used 7 as worst case scenario

Poor guy who knows that they’re using the withdrawal method but just couldn’t help himself cumming inside her? Yes, you are the only one.

TBF its the OP that doesn't like condoms, and doesn't want to take the pill.

Sorry @Freddy75 💐

I agree that OP needs to take responsibility here but surely her partner shouldn’t be “accidentally” finishing inside her if he knows she’s not on any contraception and they’ve agreed he’ll withdraw? He’s equally responsible if she gets pregnant.

ShannonO2 · 05/12/2024 12:41

Stargazer00 · 05/12/2024 11:29

TBF its the OP that doesn't like condoms, and doesn't want to take the pill.

Let me correct you. 1) I am always up for using condoms but the irritation that occurs after is painful. 2) Its not that I DO NOT want to take the pill it is he side effects I get with taking the pill. I get serious migraines and they make me more depressed because I am putting artificial hormones into my body.
So don't ASSUME something.

Withdrawal isn’t a form of contraception, she’s just as likely to get pregnant either way.

What a dire deal for the guy, utterly ridiculous.

But each to their own, eh?

If you have nothing nice to say then don't say it. It was an equal conversation of him pulling out and he never. I don't think it is much of a 'dire deal' for him but more for me.

I’m sure he’d be thrilled to have his alleged actions discussed on here, the poor man.

You must forgive me for disagreeing with you.

ALLEGED ACTIONS! I came on here for advice from people who could have been in the same position as me now like I said if you do not have no advice for me keep it to yourself because the last time I checked men cannot get pregnant and they can just up and leave whenever they like.

@ShannonO2
Was this November? You should be able to test by now, just do that?

(It's highly unlikely as you know given your dates and the fact you've had the MAP which is pretty effective even if you had ovulated by the 29th which is unlikely given your period started on 21st.)

Yeah I took it on the 28th November. Finished my period on the 25th of November and had the unprotected sex on the 29th of November. I wasn’t sure if I could because I haven’t ovulated yet.
