Is this normal?

I’ve gone back on the contraceptive pill since having a break for a year.
I’ve taken 4 pills and I can feel it changing my mood.
is this normal ?

I found it to be, felt the side effects within the first week of taking the pill or changing pill, and would find to take a good 3 months before I levelled out

It took me an embarrassingly long time to realise the pill totally changed my moods. When I figured it out I tried different ones, all were awful so I had to stop taking it.

I think (hope) some people are fine with it but it definitely changed me and not for the better.

did you find another contraceptive method that worked better for you?

Yes that's how I felt. I thought i was going mad, then realised it might be the pill. When i stopped taking it I felt like a new woman! Sadly haven't found any other pill that works so it's condoms and/or withdrawal method (which I know is risky 😬) for us.

I find the mini pill better for me.

@MummyDummyNow yes I was reading up about the withdrawal method and cycle tracking etc.

Condoms are much safer than withdrawal.

Hormonal contraception does not suit me either and l can’t remember the last time l had sex without a condom.

I just follow a tracker and when it shows medium or high just use a condom. That way we only have just over a week using a condom. We only have sex once a week so it's not too bad. If we had sex daily then I think I'd be opting for the pill

I have sex say, 3, maybe 4 times a week, but regardless, hormonal contraception does not suit me, so it’s still condoms all the way.
