Is it just me or does anyone else get turned on reading some of these threads?

No, I like sex so I read here, but it's not really arousing

Same for me. To be honest it sometimes has the opposite effect. Now and again you get oversharing for the sake of it, which can appear cringe.

Sex is part of life. The purpose of this board is for people to discuss sex related issues in an adult and hopefully positive environment. It is there to help people away from sn overly judgemental background.

People are less likely to make helpful and pragmatic responses if they think their posts are used for a purpose other than that intended.

Surely there are other items on the internet better suited for this?

Of course there are but..... men like variety. Some posters v naive about why men are here.

There's nothing that I've ever seen in the sex board that I've ever found remotely arousing. Interesting, amusing, eye-opening, informative, even disgusting, but never titillating.

And, to be honest, I find it hard to believe that anyone wanting a wank finds enough material here to make them choose it over the thousands of intentionally titillating websites out there. But I guess there are some strange people around

I think the idea that explicit discussion of sexual issues is what arouses is maybe not quite right.

What is potentially arousing is the voice and perspective of individuals.

I actually agree with the post. I do find reading about others intimacy very arousing. It doesn't mean I act on anything, but I enjoy reading about others experiences and enjoyment. I often dream, but I am too shy to act!

Yes, I agree. I have been on the Fetlife site and that was the one thing that struck me most about it, a terrific, liberating openness about everyone's posts, whether I agreed with them or not.

I don’t come to this section very often (it doesn’t come up in Active and I forget it’s here) but I’m occasionally very surprised at the more judgemental or closed minded posts. To be reading these posts you have to actively seek them out, and to then announce something fairly mainstream is ‘grim’ etc baffles me. Vast majority of posts are accepting though. But no, I wouldn’t say I get turned on.

Not turned on but enjoying the freedom to talk about sex. I was in a very long relationship where I couldn't talk about anything. Feelings. Problems. Sex.

I do on occasions think some of the threads on here are by men pretending to be women talking about scenarios that turn them on. There was one the other day. Just didn't believe it was from a woman.

I’m sure there are forums on Literotica that would get more engagement than here. Or Reddit. Mumsnet seems a fairly poor place to get your kicks surely 🤨.

There are a fair few to be honest. They are normally easy to spot. Some have even admitted it. It's not the end of the world and you could just not read this forum or report them if you so wish. It's just mildly annoying.

It's liberating, not so much a turn on. I've spoken about my partner's affair and the somewhat confused feelings I have about it. Its been quite cathartic. Whilst not making sense of how I feel, it's allowed me to think on it though and realise these situations are extremely common.
