DP said sex feels different since the coil

I had the copper coil fitted some weeks ago. For me personally, it feels great as it has no side effects apart from the heavier bleeding which I can handle. I've been experiencing some cramping but nothing unbearable and I've tried a lot of other contraceptives which have been awful.

Since having it inserted, my partner said sex feels different (3 times) since I had it put in. Surely this can't be the coil? Just wondering if anyone else has a similar experience to share please?

What does he mean different? An ex of mine had a coil and was adamant that I was able to feel it during sex, but I never noticed and nothing felt different from before it was fitted to afterwards.

I have had a coil and then a marina my hubby has never noticed it other than when he is using his fingers he has felt the chords on occasion.

Only ever felt it with an ex when things got a bit vigorous and it became a little dislodged.

If the threads have been left quite long it is possible he might be able to feel them. You can ask for them to be trimmed shorter if that is the case.

Me thinks it's all in his head

He didn't really specify in-depth, he just said it feels really dry but I know and I can feel that I'm not dry. It does feel different to me as well but not anything that will bother me or affect our sex life

I'll bare this in mind as sometimes we do have rough sex. To be totally honest I think he's worried about feeling the strings and he's overthinking it because I know that's something that might make him feel uncomfortable. However I am in no position to compromise on contraception as I've tried almost every other one

The cords can feel quite hard and ‘spiky’ till they soften up. Not everyone will feel them but some can. My friends DH used to yelp occasionally when he got spiked apparently, should soften eventually or yes, get them trimmed .

It's so good to know these things as this is the first time I'm hearing them. Thank you 😊
