Sex dreams about women

My marriage is coming to an end, and for the past week I’ve had several sex dreams about having sex with a women. I had a sexual experience with a woman at university over 20 years ago and haven’t had any sexual thoughts or fantasies so am a bit confused about why I’m having these dreams. They are vivid, it’s a different woman each time, in some I have been quite passive, but in others I’m taking the lead and seem very confident and experienced. I wake up aroused but also so confused. Before this week I dreamed about sex very rarely and as far as I can remember always about men. What’s going on with me?

Dreams are just dreams. You've probably had dreams about driving a bus full of piglets through custard forest too. So what?

If you get aroused fantasising about sex with another woman when you're awake, that's different. Go for it. You might enjoy it, you might not. Whether or not sex is good is predicated on the personality of the person you're having it with, not the genitals they have.

Dreams are not reality, but perhaps there's a bit of your subconscious mind that is realising that the end of your marriage could present an opportunity for you to explore your sexuality in ways that you previously had only briefly touched upon. I agree with others that good sex is independent of what genitals one's partner possesses, so if the opportunity does arise then I would embrace it.

Thanks for the reassurances and for the encouragement to explore. If happened again. I’m not feeling up to dating at the moment but when I am, I’ll be taking this as a hint from my unconscious!

We are probably a similar age @QuirkyRaven (uni 20yrs ago). After 20 years of marriage 2 children, divorce and 2yrs of celibacy I dated a woman.
Now I have a settled life with woman of similar age to me. Not living together but enjoy a close companionship. We stay over maybe 2 or 3nights a week. So calm, very enjoyable.

Any more dreams @QuirkyRaven ? I have been interested in dreams and love to hear how people react to them. A friend used to interpret them for people.

Is it the dream sequence that has had more impact or the idea of sleeping with a woman?

It was several in a row that unsettled me, but since I posted on here, they’ve stopped.

May I ask if the successive dreams were entirely unconnected with previous ones?
I have had dreams a bit like that. Goes back for the next installment with same setting.

@IamAutumn the best way I can seem describe it is that it was like a box set that ran for a while, then the series ended abruptly
