Torture Garden outfit

Named changed as this is slightly out there.
Anyone been and would care to share photos or descriptions of their outfits? Going to an event soon with my partner, and I'm looking for inspiration. I'm 5 foot 2, size 14 and have big boobs, if that's helpful?

I would not recommend getting a custom corset unless you know you will wear it alot, they are very expensive. You can get decent off the rack ones, I recommend Honour clothing. Don't know if you know anything about corsetry but you are looking for something with a steel busk, spiral steel bones and a waist tape. They'll be better quality if they have those things. How about a top and long skirt in PVC with a cincher (short underbust corset) and some boots? A skirt with a basque? Honour have some cute short PVC dresses which flare if you want to mask your tummy. Alternative Footwear do some epic stuff for shoes or boots. TG tends to lean towards the gothic/dramatic so you can be as OTT as you want, with hair and makeup too.

How do you know OP's partner is male?

I think there might have been a slight whoosh as this went over your head!

I've already addressed that with the pp.

I genuinely thought this was a request for clothes to wear while very reluctantly doing the gardening. I live a sheltered life.

Deargodletitgo · 19/09/2024 11:51

Ah noted re TG, I've just been to the local variety of sex clubs 🤣

😂😂😂

Definitely getting dressed up for pulling weeds from now on!

IMBCRound2 · 19/09/2024 12:26

What’s the theme? I’d say wear what you feel comfortable and what makes you feel good!

Reasonably sure I’ve shown up with a bra made of dolls heads … or an entire forest scene complete with light up birds somehow woven into my hair….

Sandwichgen · 19/09/2024 12:46

What do the blokes wear?

What do the blokes wear?

This is the reason why tg is so loved.

Their dress code is strict and you will not find a bunch of blokes in black jeans and a fish net top leering over women who are dressed to the nines.

Everyone is expected to make an effort or find a different party without such a strict dress code.
Staff on the door ping anyone who they don’t feel has met the dress code.
There are no refunds if you don’t meet the requirements.

There is no such thing as overdressed for tg. A simple body suit or lacy dress is not going to cut it by itself, you need to accessorise and build an outfit.

It’s one of my happy places for that very reason.
Everyone there is all in and it’s super warm and supportive regardless of body size/type etc

Was that in the north?
Held on with a pink body harness?

Mercurial123 · 19/09/2024 13:27

I live overseas and have never heard of it. It's a bit old but interesting reading

I think I have a pink one I’ve used in Australia and in the south east and then a black one in London? Was part of an act I used to do so I had a few variations over the years … probably an odd thing to admit to the internet that I have multiple doll head bras 😂

Starlight1979 · 19/09/2024 13:49

Jesus! I thought this was a thread about uncomfortable gardening attire and I was fully ready to jump on board with my suggestion of dungarees 😂

Me too 😂Well more specifically, looking for comfortable gardening clothes.

I'm a bit gutted tbh!

Sinisterdexter · 19/09/2024 14:23

Well my afternoon has not been wasted and everyday is a school day.
My adult dc will be aghast when I drop TG's into the conversation. 😀

Zigzagga · 19/09/2024 14:27

When my friend went she wore a fishnet dress with a black thong and black nipple covers. She looked amazing!

KindPeer · 19/09/2024 15:20

I went for the first time last year and wore basically just rope 🙈 my partner tied me up with red rope in a shibari way, then I wore blocky platform heels which were comfy enough (I'm 5'1"!). Nothing else. Sounds extreme but is pretty much on par with the outfits there! I did turn up in a leather skirt and bra over the top of the rope, and the bouncers asked if I was changing since that was too mainstream.

Did you have to take your anorak off first?

JaneFondue · 19/09/2024 16:00

This makes a welcome change from the usual Silkfred and Roman discussions. I hadn't heard of TG till now, but yes, every day is a school day.

poppymango · 19/09/2024 17:37

I went once. I wore a tight-laced black corset over a flouncy white 18th-Century-fop-style shirt, with breeches and heels (complete with bow). I did my hair with a big quiff at the front and a low ponytail tied with a ribbon at the back, pale powder on my face and a beauty mark.

Basically, I just picked a fun theme and made it a bit gothy and fetishy (I think the Sofia Coppola Marie Antoinette movie had just come out!)

I don't know if the dress code is the same now, but when I went they used to say if your outfit wasn't good enough then you'd be turned away BUT you had the option to strip naked instead, and then you'd be let in 😳they had a good look at me when I got to the door and I was a bit worried, but thankfully I was ok!

I have to be honest though, inside was a bit meh. Lots of performance art that was designed to shock but wasn't actually all that interesting, and there were a lot of dirty old men asking if they could whip you or go off into a dark corner. They were perfectly polite about it but it was deeply unsexy. It was... an experience 😆

Music was excellent however so I mostly just danced with my friends.

Its my first time going. And I might chicken out. . Just trying to spice things up, and I'm definitely not looking for images or anything, I can look that up online if I need to! 😂
Just genuinely wondering what to wear. I'm recovering from abdominal surgery so a bit uncomfortable showing off too much skin.
I'm thinking of a corset, possibly leather, but struggling to think of what to wear on bottom half. I'm a bit overweight and really self conscious.
I know they do have guidelines on their website. Just wanted more practical advice on whether there are shops I can go into to try things on, if anyone knows of I can get a corset made to measure. Any top tips?

If you're London based, pop up to Camden and just have a wander around. Make a day of it! There are loads of great alternative clothes shops, and that's where we used to buy corsets from. They don't have to be crazy expensive. Also you can get some really cool boots (New Rock style, although that specific brand is expensive) that aren't traditional heels so will be much more comfortable to wear, but still look awesome.

Unicorntearsofgin · 19/09/2024 18:37

Moulin rouge style is always good if you are feeling a little shy.

Det · 19/09/2024 19:25

@SomePosters and others who have been,. I am not body confident. How do you do it? I really feel all sizes are fine but it always seems surely at things like this, the big people always have big boobs, and the thin people always have a toned stomach etc. And I have neither.

Are you sure all body types are fine, or do people still conform to the stereotypes I mention (busty for fat, toned for thin)?

I have: Flabby stomach, flabby arms, cellulite on thighs, no tits, scrawny rest of me. I remember a friend used to go in our 20s and I felt I couldn’t possibly go. I covered up and I still do. I won’t even show my flabby arms. I bet you have a lovely body which you like to show off. No one would like to see my withered tits in a corset. I don’t know how you do it.

EI12 · 19/09/2024 19:38

There was a real torture garden in Singapore in the 1970s, as an history attraction site. Nowadays they pretend there was never one. Truly horrific and can't understand why anyone would use the name jokingly.

Barney16 · 19/09/2024 19:44

Oh, I was going to say long pants and a long sleeve top so you don't get bitten. By garden insects. And a cagoule if it's raining. Handy pockets for your tools. I'm soooooo old.
