Greatly Increased sex drive at 53 years old

Has anyone else experienced this?. I’m like a 14 year old boy!

I think I like it but not sure if it’s normal. I’m helping myself more than ever before because dh has not experienced the equivalent - if anything his drive/pleasure is a bit reduced due to a physical issue. I look forward to going home and having private time. Several times a day at the moment!

I’m on hrt and have naturally high testosterone levels. I did see a suggestion that as your female hormones reduce then the underlying testosterone becomes more obvious/impactful.

is it just me?

I'm in my late 40s and I have been having the same for the past 2 years or so, we are having sex every day and 2/3 times x day at weekends, started a freeuse agreement within our dynamic - I thought it was because our kids are finally at uni but hormones may be playing a part too.

Same for me, ebbs and flows a bit but generally much higher than say early 40s (I'm 51) @BellaDelBosco what is freeuse agreement?

Freeuse agreements vary but basically it means that one person can use the other for sex when they want to. They sometimes have parameters attached e.g. you can only have freeuse sex on specific days of the week or when I'm not cooking or when we're not at the in-laws etc.

I'm 59 now (and male) and my libido has increased but in a particular way. I'd love to do a lot more intimate kissing - slow and passionate and for a long time - and also give oral for extended periods. I think it's something about using the lips and tongue in an intimate way. Having intercourse is lovely but the scents and tastes that come with using your mouth seems to be the underlying thing about this growing passion. In terms of arousal, a good kissing session does it for me every time.

@namechangesexboard, I have given 'enthusiastic blanket consent' to my partner, i.e. unless I safeword my partner can have sex with me anytime, in any way they want. It takes away from me the pressure of initiating and from my partner the fear of rejection. It's not for everyone and it gets a bad press from porn but it really works for us.

Happened to me at 45. Lasted about 18 months before I started to settle back down a bit. I was wild!!!!!

Hasn't with me. I'm more sexual than I was when I was younger but not super horny like I was as I entered menopause.

I had an unbelievably horny phase from 55 to 57, still very happy to have sex 3-4 times a week at 62 now. Making up for lost time really as XH was useless in bed compared to my now DP!

Husband is nearly 60 and I’d say these last few years his libido is higher and our sex life is continually evolving and improving- not that it was ever bad before but it’s like he develops new skills and we find new ways to enjoy ourselves. I am very lucky indeed.

And me! I'm 53 and on HRT, but also losing weight and generally being healthier. And the warmer weather helps too!

Unfortunately my dp and I live 2 hours apart, and don't see masses of each other due to our dc's. It's massively frustrating!!
