Embarrassing but here goes

Been with DH for 22 years. Married 20. I had fun before him (we have the same number of "notches") though I'm 3 years younger.

He's always been the best I've ever had. He's getting older now so slowing down a bit. Not me.

Lately with PIV, especially with PIV, I've been getting incredibly (oh good grief I'm embarrassed) wet. Like dripping wet. Like I need to always lie on a towel wet now.

I can feel the wet come in "gushes". I flipping hate this term but it's the only way I can describe it - I squirt. I can tell it's coming from the sides of my labia, not the urethra.

I've googled and researched. Some people are convinced it's urine, others say it's not. What happens with me is a different texture to urine definitely and it's coming from a different place. It's a silky texture. It feels amazing when it happens.

But - is there something wrong with me? The amount of wet is unbelievable. This morning when dry I smelled the sheet and it smells the tiniest, tiniest little bit like wee like if I gave it a scale where 100 = absolutely snells like urine this would score a 5.

Apart from always using a towel and changing the sheets more often do I live with it? Or is it something wrong?

I can't ask my friends. I have no one to ask.

DH loves it.

For me it feels amazing but is making me nervous about PIV and I'm also freaked out about what my body is doing.

Argh. Why is it so embarrassing and why can't I talk to anyone about this???

Nothing wrong, squirting is a thing and it isn't urine, although it does contain urea, apparently. it is from stimulation of the G spot.
I know what you mean about the silky texture.

Runningoutofusernamestochange · 20/03/2024 15:10

Nothing wrong with you, (I’ve found it more pronounced around menopause, too.)

NameChangeForSexTopic · 20/03/2024 15:44

Thank you. For the info and the reassurance.

I'm probably in perimenopause.

Will it get worse in menopause?

Flip. I think I'd better buy some waterproof sheets or something.

Buy the sheets. Relax, if you can. I can imagine your DH is very happy. Thanks for sharing and being so honest about this.

Joyfulincolour · 20/03/2024 17:44

Tell DH to buy some waders! Joking....

It is completely normal & yes, it does seem to happen a lot in peri/menopause.

There has been lots of debate on here but also elsewhere regarding what the fluid is (urine or squirting). It's not really relevant either way - it's fluid produced during sexual arousal and that's it.

You can actually buy sex towels for the bed, for this very reason!

Enjoy yourselves and don't feel embarrassed. I bet DH is loving it!

Runningoutofusernamestochange · 20/03/2024 22:22

Men are responsible for the wet patches in the reproductive years! Consider it payback and make dh sleep in it!

GentlemanJay · 20/03/2024 23:21

You can buy a waterproof fitted under sheet. Enjoy those feelings.

Softskinrocks · 21/03/2024 06:57

Same thing happened to me. What a revelation! Broke up with ex and have had two partners since. I had no idea it was going to happen, have no control over it and they both loved it. Waterproof blanket and carry on!

NameChangeForSexTopic · 21/03/2024 10:20

Well same thing happened again last night. Was having fun with DH, talking, giggling, foreplay etc. Normal levels of wetness.

Moved to PIV and it's like I've wet the bed. I haven't. I deliberately emptied bladder before going to bed.

Going to have to relax and buy some special sheets. We've got a brand new mattress for gods sake. It cost a flipping fortune. I want to look after it. (I may have my priorities wrong here 😆😆)

It's good for DH's ego. He feels like a flipping sex god. 😆😆😆😆😆😆

It's normal and nothing to be ashamed about. We just fold over a couple of towels underneath my bum. It's really satisfying.

WereHereAndItsNow · 21/03/2024 15:58

@NameChangeForSexTopic

There are specifically designed sex blankets to solve your problem.

you can buy waterproof sheets but any liquid will run off. The above are designed to hold liquid. Liberator make a fascinator throw which is expensive but there products are high quality. Splash blanket make a double velux which is the fascinator equivalent and are much cheaper. Both are discrete and can be left as normal bedroom or couch throws.
worth the investment 👍

Secondstart1001 · 21/03/2024 22:39

Squirting is something to be aspired to! It’s only happened to me once and it was amazing!

chuggachug · 25/03/2024 09:54

Loads of research has been done and it's pretty conclusive that it comes from the bladder. Studies like injecting the urine in the bladder with dye and showing the fluid that comes out is dye coloured.

The urine contains small amounts of excretions from the skenes glands also.

OP if the fluid was only 5% urine you would really not be able to smell urine

If you had 95 drops of water abd 5 drops of urine do you honestly think you could smell it?

In any case it's natural and enjoyable. So don't over think it

chuggachug · 25/03/2024 09:58

Basically just prior to squirting the bladder rapidly fills with urine which is then expelled which is why even if you pee before hand there used to be urine.

ICanBuyMyselfFlowers72 · 26/03/2024 07:21

I only did it when I reached menopause age, and with a new (very passionate) partner. We have soaked the bed, loads of times.

I was in a sexless marriage, previously, and it was obvious the sexual chemistry just wasn't there with my ex. What a revelation!!

Menopause also made me extremely horny! Lasted about a year and still not what I was before (not that bothered but then think it was who I was with). I'm definitely a lot more sexual than I used to be.

Your DH will love it!

Yep. Multiple studies have shown its urine with a small amount of discharge from glands.

Dye in the bladder has been used in studies. The squirt is dye coloured when released. Because it comes from the bladder.

Like this poster's article says, there is a sudden filling of the bladder just prior to squirting. That's why peeing before sex doesn't stop it.

It doesn't matter what it is though. It happens due to sexual stimulation so just rock on

resuwen · 19/04/2024 10:21

This begin for me at some point in my 30s. I've researched it a lot and it doesn't seem to be well understood at all, some research suggests that it is urine and some that it isn't. As you've noticed, it doesn't smell like urine and it only occurs for me under a specific set of circumstances, not every time I orgasm, so it isn't incontinence.

Don't be embarrassed. In my experience men absolutely love it. You can get better quality mattress protectors that are waterproof but don't feel like a plastic sheet, put a normal sheet over the top. I usually put a towel down so I don't have to change the bed.
