Male pubic hair

I’ve not long got a new partner after a few years of being single and see things moving into the bedroom soon with her. Just wondering what’s the thoughts of pubic hair on a man ?

thanks 😊

Not a chance I would ask a partner, new or otherwise their preference for the way I have my pubic hair.

Quite.

It would very much put me off a partner who asked me what they should do with theirs too.

Lovemusic82 · 25/12/2023 20:18

I prefer hair on a man but doesn’t put me off if they shave. My dp (newish relationship) shaves but I don’t tell him that I prefer him with hair as it’s his choice, same as it’s my choice not to shave.

LlynTegid · 27/12/2023 13:59

Individual choice. Mutually respected.

ladymichelleZ · 28/12/2023 18:34

I think anything goes these days for men and women so feel free to do what you prefer. My husband prefers no hair at all on himself and I am a fan of this for him also!

If what I saw last night is an indicator, it is more common for men to shave their pubes now than for women. A friend took me to a naturist/nudist evening she goes to and her, me and another two or three were the only smooth women there out of about 20, maybe 25. The men on the other hand, about half were smooth.

Bit of a divert but must admit am intrigued by this event this time of year. A cocktail party?

JL690 · 05/02/2024 12:04

@Offwiththecircus no, it was at a swimming pool. It's a weekly event that my friend started going to recently.

TheGander · 06/02/2024 19:57

Were some of the men there gay? Maybe it’s an age thing, I’m in my 50s, but I’d associate a shaved male member with being gay. I’d find it disconcerting if a guy I was bedding was shaved. The male pubic hair isn’t a big deal during oral sex, in my experience.

JL690 · 06/02/2024 22:38

I have no idea of their sexuality, nor do I care, to be honest. In fact it wasn't a sexual event, simply swimming and socialising in the sauna and a steam room while naked.

Definitely not related to being gay from what I see. I do waxing and laser hair removal and there has definitely being a big uptick of men removing hair down there in the last 5-10 years. Many men come in with female partners, wives, girlfriends for their treatment and are choosing to remove most or all of the hair down there and their partners seem very happy about this!

namechanged1010 · 10/02/2024 09:05

My OH said more men are bare or extremely short below now..just from what he sees at the gym and football changing. Not the majority but a fair few.

I think that the days of men sporting unkempt bushes is fading away given the amount of grooming women do as the norm

Hijinks75 · 10/02/2024 09:37

@namechanged1010 , do women spend lots of time grooming, DW certainly doesn’t bother, never has and remember a colleague at work, early 30s, who never shied away from expressing her views said trimming/ removing her bush was the least of her concerns , admittedly only two but I bet a genuine poll would probably show it’s not as common as people think

Hoglet70 · 10/02/2024 09:50

Oh God, I shudder at the thought of a bloke being bald 'down there! Maybe it's because I'm old lol.

Hubby really keen on this. How painful is the all off down there? He wants to do it but worried about the pain! Wimp

I’ve shaved a few in my time and they were definitely not gay. I tested that 😀.

l find “bald” men less sweaty, particularly in the warmer weather. I’ve known quite a few men do their underarms too. I’m always puzzled how deodorant can properly adhere to a hairy armpit.

BigButtons · 10/02/2024 17:50

don’t find the bald pre pubescent look attractive at all.

Yes women spend lots of time on beauty and grooming, or at least at the beauticians. I do but also is my treats.

I think you will find the vast majority of women in their 30s and plenty in 40s groom very heavily or more likely bare below. Is very much the norm. I know that we did a straw poll on a girlie night out (and after plenty of drinks) and a good majority were.

A totally unscientific poll on a girls night out for me (all over 30) revealed 5 out of 7 were all off, 1 highly trimmed and only 1 with full bush.

So the bald look isn't for you. your choice, obviously. The men who shaved their pubic hair didn't look pre-pubescent, they looked like bald adult men. I certainly don't look like a pre-pubescent woman either.

Cakencookieobsessed · 11/02/2024 14:30

No adult person looks prepubescent because of a lack of hair ffs. But I still don't think the bald look is good on men. My opinion.

Exactly. My bra size is 36F, my vulva does not look pre-pubescent, nor the rest of my figure for goodness sake.

Most men shave their faces, does that make them pre-pubescent? It’s down to personal choice, but don’t make out it’s something it is not!

BigButtons · 11/02/2024 17:35

@Cakencookieobsessed it really does look all kinds of wrong to me- same with bald vulvas on women.

StarlightLady · 11/02/2024 17:50

@BigButtons - I’ll get my coat!

That's fine to think that. I'm not a fan of the no hair look either, I just don't think it makes a person look like a child. It's a good job we aren't forced to sleep with what we find unattractive though, hey.

brunettemic · 12/02/2024 00:36

Do what you want, it’s your body. FWIW my preference is “as long as it doesn’t tickle my nose”…read into that what you will! 😉
