Copper coil

Having the copper coil fitted next week. Just wondering what to expect when I go to have it in?

Unless you're expecting the person fitting it to have sex with you, I can't imagine why you've posted this here?

Take paracetamol before hand. I personally found it quite uncomfortable but I have a weird cervix! I had it done at a sexual health clinic and it was pretty quick. Did have cramping afterwards for a few hours. I've loved the copper coil. Didn't affect my periods at all although I know a lot of people get heavier periods. The Mirena was awful in comparison.

Exactly as above! Take some paracetamol and relax, I also have an awkward cervix so took a little longer but we got there, it's like having a smear. I had cramping for a couple of hours after but nothing too drastic. My periods are definitely heavier but only for 7 days a month instead of being sporadic like with the implant. Best thing I ever did contraception wise.
