I didn't know if to post this in the sex or relationships board, but im wondering if anyone has any experience of Sexomnia?

I'm female, and have had a few occasions in a past relationship where I've woken up once I've instigated sex or foreplay but with my current partner of 1y it's happening frequently, we spend 4/5 nights a week together and it happens at least one of those nights. Some nights I don't wake up and he will tell me the next day i was grinding on him, touching him etc and then I just roll over after a while.. but other times I keep going playing with him until he's 'ready' and then it turns into sex & I'll wake up but it's always me driving it and some nights I'll be in and out of knowing what I'm doing but don't properly wake up until a while later. Now my DP loves it, it makes him giggle when I'm humping his leg like a dog while asleep and enjoys if it goes further and he gets to climax. To be clear he never leads this, and doesn't play with me as he's so sleepy so there's no concern it's him doing this. But.... what if he ever wasn't comfortable with it, and it's got me worried if I shared a bed with a friend etc that I'd do the same? Is this something I should be worried about?

From googling it I've read things and some horror stories but I'm hoping to hear if anyone else has any real life experiences of it?

I (male) did this in my twenties. DW didn't mind. Sometimes it led to midnight sex sometimes it didn't.

Never did anything remotely like that with anyone else so I figure it just came from my attraction to her.

Both my wife and I have done it. She also laughs hysterically and swears in her sleep. Quite amusing.

My DP tells me that I grind on him when I’m asleep, I also massage his balls and thigh. I think it happens a couple of times a week. This has went on for decades now! He used to waken me for sex but he’s older now and would rather sleep 😂

So you're asleep at the time? And he engages in sex with you? I couldn't be with someone who thought that was in anyway ok! Full disclosure I'm a rape survivor so may view things differently but I can't imagine any kind of sex with an unconscious person?!

Interesting responses, some made me giggle because we do laugh about it when it happens too. In regards to him having sex with me while I'm asleep, I'll wake up but I've got on top of him after spending however long before playing with him until he's hard and then I'll either wake at that point, just randomly stop and roll over and not wake at all, or if it does lead to sex I wake then.

Glad I'm not the only one who does it though, and as a PP said I'm also super attracted to him & our sex life is amazing so maybe that's what contributes to it.

I'm gunna just have to never share a bed with a friend in the future as I'd never be able to tell them I do this haha.

Ive woken up in the night as my wife is fidgeting and realising she is grinding herself into a pillow in her sleep. Assumed it's the female version of a guys wet dream lol. Power of the mind / dream and all that!

My husband does this, only for the past 7 years or so though. He wakes half way through and says "oh, this is happening again then is it?" 😂

Haha that sounds so similar to me, I'm always like how have I ended up here 😂 do you enjoy it or does it annoy you? My partner thinks it's hilarious but he loves it, and if I've not done it in a few weeks he's always asking when it's going to happen again.. as if I have any control over it haha

My wife does this occasionally and initiates sex in the middle of the night. Funny thing is she's SO much more wild than usual, grunting and moaning and telling me incredibly dirty things. And then she never remembers any of it at all so we just go on about our next days like nothing unusual happened LOL
