Anal cleanliness question

For those that indulge in anal, what do you do to prepare?
Do you have a full-on enema?
A poo and a wash?
Or just go for it?

From time to time I’ll do an enema, but I usually just go to toilet before anal. If you eat enough fibre and have a health gi system there shouldn’t be any waste in the anal canal it’s stored in the rectum. At the end of the day if you are having anal you need to accept there is a small chance of mess.

I use a douche bulb enema.

I don't do anal anymore. But when I did, there was nothing specific to prepare me. I think if I had to do a ritual before it would make me more anxious! I just went with it and 99% of time it was fine as I had healthy gut and good hygiene

However, as previous poster said. If you are in that region, there is always hazard of a bit of mess. We would just laugh, clear up and move on.... was never an issue

Now I write this, I realise I miss anal.

I just go to the toilet and make sure I'm clean. I never understood when I heard about enemas and douches etc

Douches are not so bad, but having too many full-blown enemas is not a wonderful idea. They strip out the mucus in the gut and remove/reduce a lot of the beneficial fauna that lives in the bowel.

not saying you are wrong about issues with too many enemas.

But "fauna"?

I thought that meant animals.

I usually plan anal so will douche beforehand. Bought a shower attachment for that purpose. First time I used it I turned the shower on full and blasted my colon into oblivion! The state of the shower tray..! 😳🤣

These days I just use a bulb enema rather than attempting a home colonic irrigation..

Tried the bulb thing once, didn’t like it.
Have never had any major issues. The occasional minor one. But neither of us are bothered. I’m a nurse so have seen an awful lot of shit in my time 😂

We don’t do any prep other than a trip to the loo in the hours prior.

Sometimes it’s not even planned and just happens. Never been an issue

don't do anal but do use KY with toilet paper for day-to-day cleanliness - for me anyway, a magical solution

Prefer to douche personally. However, I am a bit of a clean freak. Will not play with DH’s bum without gloves.

It's still very nice occasionally when the mood takes us. 27+ years together but I've never done any particular prep beyond the obvious - lube, being super-relaxed, etc.

Just keeping everything generally clean with soap and water and having a regular toilet routine and it's fine. Never fancied or seen the need for an enema, douche or whatever. Anal is usually an impulse thing for us anyway. When the passion is up I just want to get on with it!

Once in a blue moon there might be an odd bit of poo (it goes with the territory after all!) but not enough to be bothered about. A quick wash which we do anyway and it's sorted.

I've tried douching, and frankly, I can't think of much that's made me feel less in the mood for sex.

Yeah same.. I don't get the need for the enema/douching etc. Just make sure I've been to the toilet and I'm showered. I heard it all when my gay brother used to tell me about what they all did.. full on clean, buttplugs etc

Sorry if I'm being a bit dim, but how exactly do you do that? Squeeze lube onto the toilet paper to wipe for better cleaning, or apply lube before going?

I've never thought of using KY though quite apart from anal sex I've actually always had a bit of a thing for "down there" cleanliness.

Loo roll for me has never felt quite sufficient and I've always followed up with warm water and soap. After a recent revelatory holiday abroad where every hotel had a bidet I've decided what's going top of my next birthday list! 😂

I was a convert after living in the middle east and using the bum hoses, sooo clean! I want one installed but until then I use wipes. Toilet paper is not enough and it's gross to think I spent my first 28 years with an unclean arse. And that most people in the UK have one.

@Disturbia81 And bidets have got to be better for the environment? All those trees saved from being turned into loo roll. It's a win win surely?!
