Weird relationship with married colleague

My colleague is married with kids. We’ve always been quite flirty which progressed into sharing a bed after a work event. He said it shouldn’t happen again but that he cares about me and wanted to be friends.

I felt like he pulled away a fair bit but recently has been messaging me a lot. He’s never inappropriate over message but then I wonder why would he want to message someone so much younger than him just to be friends, or is it because he is worried I will tell someone? He has made comments in person about wanting it to happen again but saying it can’t. He’s suggested we catch up away from colleagues but never follows through with it. I don’t know if it’s just that he doesn’t really care enough to, if he just wants to know it could happen again if he wanted, or if he’s battling with guilt.

I know what happened was wrong and I know I must sound naïve but I just don’t understand his actions. He is more senior than me so I also worry about how he may react if I cut ties completely outside of anything work related.

Everyone likes to have sex with others if they can get away with it.

Ensuring you get away with it is the tricky bit of course.

No, not everyone wants to be a cheating bastard. 🙄

Marriage doesn't often stop men trying to have sex with someone else.

Married women also have affairs too. A tradesman friend of mine tells of frequent instances where he has rebuffed advances from flirting wives at home, it's quite common.

I can so imagine. Yack

Oh lord, steer clear.

Someone will get hurt!

He's being a dick and you are being silly.

Just get on with your job and ignore the twat.
