It is true that BF reduces libido?

Since the middle of my pregnancy I lost my libido completely, and I assumed that it would be like that after giving birth. Now it's been 4 weeks since I had my DD by C-section, and almost a few days after delivery I already felt great and really wanted sex.
Obviously I haven't done anything with dp yet as I'm still bleeding, and he insists I better make a full recovery, but we do have other forms of intimacy and I honestly have to say can't wait to find my moment with dp. But I understand that BF reduces libido, which surprises me that this isn't the case and I'm afraid that when I go to try it, it will hurt and I will lose all this desire that I feel. I would like to know your experiences 😄

I breastfed for three years - it did not affect my ex drive at all.

I will say I didn’t like having my breasts/nipples “handled” by DH whilst I was breastfeeding because during that time, in my eyes, they had a different job to do! Since I stopped however, it feels better than ever in that area. 😁

Congrats on the baby.

It’s affected my libido, but my baby also woke every 45mins-1hr so that def had an affect too.
you had a c section so I don’t think you will experience pain when trying again unless your scar isn’t healed.

Yes it definitely effected mine until they were all well in solid foods, I'm still feeding my youngest and actually have been feeding across all kids for 8 years no without a break! But my libido is fine now, just seemed to be when they were very small it had the most effect.

Don't think it's BF that's responsible. Think it's having a baby that regularly wakes for feeds, wherever they're bottle it breastfed! Being a mom is tiring and sleep is more important than sex!
