Remote control cock ring for solo play?

I'm thinking if buying DP a remote (app) controlled cock ring as a birthday present. We don't live together and I thought this could enhance our remote play time when we're not together. We often use toys during Sex but usually more for me rather than him although I do know that he has some at home for masturbation.

That's what I thought too but they are specifically marketed for remote solo play so I'm assuming it must do something. They're not cheap so I don't really want to spend loads of it's a waste of money. I want him to have some enjoyment from it. He has some masturbators I think... 🤔

Yeah, I didn't get the whole cock ring thing either to be honest which is why I asked.
With regards to the control thing it's something we're both very much into. I realise it's not everyone's cup of tea of course. We also do a lot of sexting when we're not together, so this would just add to that.
