Male Friends and Sex

Over 10 years ago I was in a relationship with a man, I had two male friends who were work colleagues, we’d have lunch occasionally and often with other female work colleagues, my partner at the time was bothered by this, he thought men can’t be friends with females without wanting to have sex with them at some point, I started questioning whether the male friends were wanting more. I gradually pulled away and we had less contact. We eventually split anyway, I missed those friendships, one was like a brother and the other shared the same humour and both had girlfriends.
Do all men think this way?

Man here. I've had a fair few friendships with women both gay and straight. Sometimes closer than male friends- or at least able to talk about different subjects than most of my men friends.

I think it's more normal with younger people?

I've got best make friends and best female friends.
