No - not an 'asking for a friend' thread. Just genuine curiosity.

Speaking as someone who struggles to get out of a pair of rubber gloves, what is the appeal? Is it look, or feel, or both? All I can think of is stickiness and friction burns.

Would anyone mind commenting?

Where to start - The feel of it against your skin, the feel of them against your skin, the sensory deprivation, the slip slide feel, the vision of the body in tight latex is very sexy, if they’re fully gimped up its so erotic in that they could be anyone under there but also knowing who they are but they’re made mysterious somehow, it’s also very powerful as woman wearing it as it’s almost like a barrier of sexiness. It’s wonderful.

The latex I wear is very expensive with a special layer coated on it so it goes on and off easily.

It feels good being vacuum packed in. I love having shiny black legs. Nowadays there are a lot of leather look and patent effect leggings available but years ago latex was pretty much the only thing that would achieve that sort of effect. Feeling hugged and embraced by one's rubber garments, having one's bust cupped and presented by well shaped breast cups, there's a lot to like. Being able to present oneself as a sexy women without having to show loads of skin in some fast fashion atrocity. There's a good deal to enjoy here.

As hinted at above, some people enjoy the anonymity and dehumanisation that can go hand in hand with latex, especially when it shares territory with BDSM, but that's not inherantly about latex and absolutely not a necessary part of it. As a fabric, it's full of contradictions. Hot and cold, tight and smooth, grippy and slippery, restrictive whilst being almost not there, glamorous and taboo, touch becomes both muted and amplified at the same time.
Personally, I think it's hard to not look sexy in latex, whatever tour body shape, especially if it's nor black.
Theres a ritual to it that i like too, as garment care is nothing like regular clothes and there is a process to getting dressed. Getting it on and off doesn't need to be difficult - talc helps, or there are proprietary "dressing aids" or you can have the latex chmically treated to make it more slippery.
There's a lot to like.

ChooChoo22 is it possible to say what brand, or what the coating is which makes it easier to wear? Thanks

The most common "coating" isn't really a coating. It's a process called chlorination. It makes the latex more shiny (so there's less need to polish it), easier to slip on (less need for talc or dressing aid), reduces the smell of the latex (that's a subjective benefit) and is often reported as reducing the chances and effects of latex allergies.
Many companies that make or sell latex clothing offer this treatment on their products.
The downside is that, once chlorinated, tears etc can't easily be repaired as the glue doesn't stick.

I haven't work it for years, but bloody loved it. I'd be worried now as I'm not small and I don't think it would be very flattering! 😂

Oh, I don't know @OrlandointheWilderness, just imagine how the light would catch your curves, and how a well-fitted (or better yet, made to measure) latex outfit could hold you in and show you off in all the right places.
When I grow old I shall delight in dressing inappropriately, a bit like Jenny Joseph's famous poem about being an old woman wearing purple. This may include skin tight shiny clothing, to the disapproval of my more soberly-attired acquaintances.
