Catching Someone Masturbating

AnonNeedAdvice · 08/01/2023 16:13

I need some advice.

I f you caught someone (not DP) masturbating, and they saw you, what would you do? I just ran away quickly but we will have to see each other. Should I say anything or is the done thing to just pretend nothing happened.

FYI… it was me in the wrong place, he was in his own private space and I opened the door so I am in the wrong and feeling awful that he will be feeling humiliated and scarred for life. Help?

My advice would be to say nothing, just act casual. If they try and explain their actions just say what they were doing is completely natural and nothing to be embarrassed about and you are not bothered (I'm assuming there that you aren't bothered by it)

ATabulaRasa · 08/01/2023 16:43

Man here. I have only ever been caught once, and whilst it was embarrassing it’s not the end of the world. I wouldn’t mention it unless he does, pretend like it didn’t happen so as to not relive the embarrassment

Iloveabaconbutty · 08/01/2023 16:57

I echo everything that's been said. I remember when I was about 14 one Saturday morning and my dad walked into my room (I think to offer me a cup of tea) and caught me. It was excrutiatingly embarrassing. He said something like "Enjoying yourself?" and immediately went out and closed the door. We never spoke of it but I'm quite sure if we he ever had he'd have reassured me saying chill out, it's quite natural/normal (he was a great dad like that and stilI miss him loads).

AnonNeedAdvice · 08/01/2023 16:59

Thank you gentlemen. I will say nothing unless he does.

@Yorkieboy No, not bothered at all other than guilty for embarrassment for him caused by me. He is a grown adult who should have had the privacy, I was in the wrong and worry how he is feeling

Agree with everyone else...say nothing. I am sure he will have been embarrassed at the time but I dare say he will now be looking back with a wry smile. He will be fine!!!

I dont think he will be too embarrassed if he is a grown adult to be honest.

Years ago we lived with the mother in law and she walked in on me doing it, she walked back out again then later on when I went downstairs she just jokingly said "looked like you were having a good time" we just laughed it off and its occasionally mentioned during drunken nights and its still laughed at.

AnonNeedAdvice · 08/01/2023 19:17

It’s all ok, he came down, I went bright red and he just said: don’t worry I’m fully dressed now. I smiled, apologised and he said it’s all fine.

I walked in on my nephew doing it when I was babysitting. Excruciating for both to this day and it was 20 years ago lol

I do not understand adults who do not knock. Any child 10 years or older (really if they are old enough to dress and bathe themselves) it’s time for the grown ups to start knocking. I hope it’s just a stupid boomer thing but I’m sure there are plenty of idiots who are younger that just don’t get it until they humiliate themselves and a kid.

Zanatdy · 09/01/2023 06:30

If it was your teenager or something I’d just send a text (so they don’t need to be embarrassed face to face) apologising for not knocking. Or anyone really. Just apologise - end of conversation. And knock before entering people’s private space in future!

AnonNeedAdvice · 11/01/2023 18:48

I did knock, I thought he was out and needed something from the room. The guy is staying in our spare room (he’s a grown man).

Hes been fine about it, made a couple of jokes and I feel less embarrassed. My OH has been weirder if I’m honest

@PissedOffAmericanWoman I'm quite sure my dad would have knocked too. Quite possibly my "Hang on!" or whatever my 14 year old self said, could have been misheard through the closed door as "Come in".

MaxTalk · 11/01/2023 21:52

So having a wank in your spare room? Love it..

daytriptovulcan · 11/01/2023 23:06

Just pretend it never happened...give it no more thought, as the person was in no way being exhibitionist.

notHarryagain · 13/01/2023 10:05

you should have returned with a box of tissues

notHarryagain · 13/01/2023 10:09

and a couple of Razzle back copies from the 70s

I take it he's looking for a new room? 🤐

Rhondaa · 13/01/2023 20:15

So he's a guest in your house, must've known you were in yet decided to ignore the knock while he was busy having a wank? You'd think he'd wait until bedtime to ensure privacy.

It's almost as if he wanted to be caught and is maybe enjoying your embarrassment. How much longer is he staying?

Andypandy799 · 14/01/2023 16:28

Not surprised your partner wasn’t happy I’d be fuming if that were my girlfriend

There wasn't a knock. OP just walked straight in.

'I did knock, I thought he was out and needed something from the room'

I think he liked being caught.

Justellingthetruth · 15/01/2023 07:21

@Janiie

dear me. So many assumptions there in what you say. You have a very dim view of people

I dont have a dim view of people generally. The op has told us this man is a guest in their house, he decided to have a wank in the middle of the day. Now you'd think he'd have made sure the coast was clear or at last had an ear out for footsteps and knocks. But he didn't. So he is either incredibly stupid and a bit reckless, or he liked been caught. I'm going for the latter. Going by the op's dh reaction I'm guessing he thinks the same.

Oh I see, in that case maybe she didn't wait long enough to get a response and walked in straight after knocking because she thought he was out anyway? God I hope the poor woman didn't see actually his willy while he was at it. I'd be mortified! lol 🤣

I once caught a friend. She didnt know I had seen and thought it best never to say anything!
