This has happened twice in the past few months. DW and I were having a rare lie-in on a midweek day off and around 9am we decided we'd like to DTD. Just as things were nicely under way we heard the sound of rattling ladders, men's voices etc - yes, as if timed to perfection, the window cleaners had arrived!
Do we (a) carry on regardless (the curtains are firmly closed btw!), (b) stop what we are doing and wait for them to finish and hope they think no-one's in when they ring the doorbell for payment and then just carry on, or (c) get up, scrabble around for some money and chuck some clothes on to look vaguely decent when they knock on the door in a few minutes time?
Both times it was (c). The moment was wrecked and we just ended up putting the coffee on and getting up. Quite comical but infuriating at the same time as the opportunity for a relaxed bit of morning sex when it's just us in the house is a bit of a rarity.
Anyone else had a similar experience and how did you handle it? Maybe we should be more relaxed, but the the idea of someone else being just a few feet away even if they are unaware of what we were up to was just too distracting.
