Do you usually give yourself a quick clean before sex (especially oral)?

I usually spend about 10 minutes in the bathroom giving my fanjo a quick clean before sex. Find it hard to relax during the act itself if I don't follow this routine. My DP has said he likes the thought of going down on me when I haven't done my usual routine. I am wondering if this is common (me always cleaning myself before sex, and partner wanting to go down on me more when I haven't).
