We have sex maybe once a year

My DH and I have a fantastic relationship, we are like best friends and are always laughing and having a good time. We love each other very much and are happy but...

He never seems to want to have sex. He says it's because he is paranoid about my children hearing us (age 18 and 16). He says he would feel more comfortable doing it when they aren't in the house. So basically that is never because my eldest has special needs and only goes out with me.

We do other stuff like touching etc but when it comes to actual sex, he just never seems to want to. I'm not sure if we have even had sex this year. If we have, it will only be 1 or 2 times at the most.

Just not really sure what to do.

What is the communication like between you too? Can you dit down and say would like to be intimate more often? You are not apportioning blame
Is there any way coukd factor in some couple time? Not ideal to plan as it kills the spontaneity but no doubt you will bith get in the mood-think if the anticipation. Also does your child wear earphones ever? I was self conscious havin sex when we were in a B and B. Said no cos he was noisy🤣 My partner promised he could be quiet. He proved he could when the need arose. Good luck.
