Do you get fed up with your OH constantly banging on about sex?

My wife does, so I've cut back.
I guess it is because oe of our kids lives with us works from home and men are generally more that way inclined.

I have cut back the chatter as it does drive my OH off sex.

Some times a quick cuddle and a bit more cools me down but I get it, I and many men can get boring and put OH's off :(

Just from my personal POV, sounds like you could both do with a nice meal, bottle of wine and a good flipping chat. It's rarely one sided and it could be very helpful to find where your common ground lies.

Not long after my DW and I met we realised that I'd happily have sex every day and my wife once a month so we agreed on once a week.

It's not been all plain sailing but once you've begun the discussions and commit to keeping talking then hopefully you can find a way to walk forward together from there.

Good luck!

Thanks v much. Mrs does not drink. The common ground is I love chatting about it she is not a fan until we do it.
Thanks again, appreciated.

What do you mean by banging on about it - just talking about sex constantly, or nagging her to actually partake?

I almost never talk about sexual stuff with my partner, I would imagine being on the listening end of that all the time would be quite off putting, if not cringeworthy. Obviously, very occasionally there are things we need to discuss, as and when necessary, but the way you're describing it is that you can't stop talking like a dirty pervert! No, I don't think most normal men are like that.

We do have plenty of flirty/sexual jokey banter between us, but a) it's suggestive and funny (we share the same sense of humour), and b) it's two way traffic.

Constantly talking about it when we are out for a walk.
The thing is we do all kinds of stuff once we start but it's getting her going
is the hard bit.
My OH feels too old but blokes constantly look at her and I tell her and remind her how well it went when we did stuff.
I know I do talk a lot about but I think many men do especially the younger lot 18 to 25 and then those like me 60 and a bit older.
We have more time know as we left work almost 6 years ago I was just sub 55 and she was older so more time to relax chill and then my mind goes there.

Yes constantly having to listen to my H go on about sex would dry me right up. No thanks.

I think you should be careful. If she gets the full on Ick from you doing this there may be no coming back from it. Ever.

That is my fear. The sad fact is I'm good at helping others but not myself.

ComtesseDeSpair · 21/09/2022 21:54

I really enjoy sex and we have a lot of it so it’s nothing to do with men being “that way inclined”: but there’s absolutely no way I’d want to be listening to a constant monologue about sex when we were out for a walk. There’s absolutely nothing sexy about that, I’m not surprised your OH is turned off by it, and if droning on about sex all the time is what you think will get her in the mood then no wonder you’re not getting much. Flirting in the right circumstances, yes. But are you honestly saying you have no concept of when sex might not be the first thing in her mind?

Thank you all. I will keep it zipped, IE my lips, thanks again

Opposite here. He never mentions it. I have always had the stronger sex drive but I would still love him to bring it up.

After me being 'in charge' for over 20 years, he says he doesn't know how to anymore. Confused

Which is just as off putting.
