What's the chances of a Chalymdia test coming back negative?
I have symptoms of Chlamydia- e.g. burning vulva, itchyness and discharge. I originally thought that maybe I have a yeast infection because my discharge was quite thick and white- cottage cheese like. I've have used canesten the past three nights. The discharge has disappeared but I'm still having the burning etc.
Anyways, I went to my doctor on Friday and had a STI screening and all has come back negative. Do you think I could still have Chlamydia and the results are negative? Freaking out here!

I don't know whether you can get false negatives with a chlamydia test. Did you go to your GP? In your shoes, I'd be inclined to make an appointment at the local sexual health clinic instead.

@PinotPony Thanks for writing back! I did a telehealth appointment and got the pathology test emailed to me.
I'm feeling very anxious about it all.

Could it he another STD and not chlamydia ?

I got tested for all coming STDs. I should have mentioned that in my post. I got retested today so will keep you all posted.

I'm still having symptoms.

you might be allergic reaction to thrush treatment or have BV.

@Hoosemover good suggestion. I'll wait until my results come back and if they are negative, I'll look into that.

If the results from your second STI screen come back negative, you really need to go to the clinic to be examined. Trying to guess what it might be and then self-medicating is likely to just make things worse.

I had stomach cramps, itchiness and sickness. I was 15 (please don't judge). In my teenage years I was pretty much fed and live an uneducated life. I was a hard teenager to love is what my mum said. I was asked if I was sexually active. When I said yes she did a quick impromptu smear and it came back from that.

At a smear they would check for them all, well they did when they did mine 18 years ago

Thanks for sharing your story. I've gone to get a smear and waiting for results. Doctor thinks ktd unlikely & that my symptoms could actually be from birth control.

Pessaries and creams are pretty crap at eradicating thrush IME. 150mg of fluconazole from the chemist should sort it better. I don't think chlamydia makes you itch as such, more like uti symptoms and yellowish discharge that's nothing like cottage cheese. Sounds like thrush, which although can be as a result of sexual activity from friction, is not considered an sti.
