Spurt Or Not

chocolateonmyface · 17/07/2022 21:38

Following some recent sexual activity I started wondering about what proportion of men are spurters vs dribblers (if that’s the right word)? I’ve met more spurters so was surprised that actually they are in the minority (if Wikipedia is to be believed)

I can do both.

VeniVidiWeeWee · 17/07/2022 23:23

Sorry , but I'm a 62 year old man and don't even understand the question.

chocolateonmyface · 17/07/2022 23:56

That wasn’t mentioned in Wikipedia

Ultimately sex is to procreate. To get sperm to where it needs to go, to fertilise an egg, it needs to shoot out of the penis.
However, if it's a mans second ejaculation in a short space of time, it's probably not going to go with such force.

chocolateonmyface · 18/07/2022 08:27

Being able to do both.

Personally it varies hugely from time to time. degree of build up, time since lst ejaculation. It used to be said that orgasms triggered by prostate stimulation had less pulsing but I wouldn't say that is a universal experience.

HowlongWillThisTakeNow · 18/07/2022 18:56

All men “should” ejaculate with some force to propel the semen as far into the vagina as possible .. I guess some just have more force than others..

stupidly · 18/07/2022 19:10

I knew a man that spurted with such force, it was an incredible surprise the first time I saw it.

He had the shortest penis I've seen but spunked the hardest.

I've never really experienced a man who is always a 'dribbler'. It seems to me both occur for most, rather than being this or that exclusively.

zarek · 18/07/2022 21:40

It depends how turned on you are. Plus impressive spurting decreases with ageing

altmember · 19/07/2022 11:11

It should be coming out at about 30mph! Should only be a dribble after round 2 or 3.

LancashireLad · 19/07/2022 11:25

As a previous poster has said I think a lot probably depends on level of turn on, build up (esp. extended foreplay, maybe going back and forth to the edge of orgasm a few times), how recently the last ejaculation was and most probably age too. Possibly the more regularly the "ejaculatory muscles" (I'm sure there must be a technical term for these!) are "exercised" the more powerful the spurt is likely to be, maybe?

When I was about nineteen I remember once hitting the headboard, which was a bit discombobulating! Dunno, in my mid-fifties, if I could still do that.

To be honest I just don't know because these days pretty much 100% of the time when I ejaculate it's inside her. There are times occasionally when she gives a muffled exclamation as I hit the back of her throat during oral (sorry if tmi but you did ask!) which might be an indicator of my "spurting credentials" ?!

j712adrian · 19/07/2022 19:08

I was between my early 30s and late 40s and could easily hit the headboard (or indeed the curtains and walls) apart from that, an ooozer.

Oldtadger · 20/07/2022 15:05

Man here. Spend some time edging (getting very excited but stopping short of cumming) and you are likely to increase the chance of spurting, especially if the previous orgasm was sometime ago.

So "dribblers" can't procreate?

I was thinking that too, some misunderstanding of biology I believe

In theory not as effectively, the vagina is normally an acidic environment at about ph4, and sperm like an alkaline environment, so the further up the vaginal canal the sperm get ejected, the better the survival rate., even with mucus

lauraUK1000 · 21/07/2022 17:40

My husband can spurt if he can leave it alone long enough but most of the time it dribbles out of him as he masturbates so often it does not get time to build up! 😀

As we age we need to work more at fitness etc if we want to spurt.

In my 20s it was every time and something I was very proud of, then it suddenly became a lot less, and after some work I can do it again at least as well as ever, but not every time, and I usually need to put the effort in if I want it to be impressive.

xpc316e · 28/01/2025 17:54

From my twenties right up until my late forties I was very much a spurter and my partners would often remark on the amount of semen I was producing. I am now in my late sixties and although I would not say that I ooze, my ejaculation has no power behind it at all. Volume is also very much decreased, but I suppose that it really should not be much of a surprise.

Oldtadger · 29/01/2025 23:33

Three factors affect it IMHO.
Degree of being turned on.
Hydration.
Age (less spurting as you get older)

Truthbetolddd · 03/02/2025 00:10

Most guys I’ve had have been spurters and I love it. The best for me is when they pulse when they cum it’s so amazing to feel either when they cum in my mouth or my 🐱. Even in my ass loool

GreenCrow · 03/02/2025 10:15

Just to echo the rest of the male posters in that in can be both, I do personally get a kick out of edging and building things up to the point of a ridiculous spurt but you don't always have the time and privacy for that!

Of course they can providing the woman assumes a correct position after, as in on her back with a pillow propping herself up so the semen runs down and into her. It would probably be a lot less productive if a dribbler ejaculates while she is on top.
I'm pretty sure it has a lot to do with age whether you dribble or spurt, and also how fit you keep yourself.
