Silvery bush

Ive rejoined the world of dating after many years in a long-term relationship and a couple of years getting over said relationship. It's great! So nice to feel the rush of red blood return 😆 But I'm having what I know is an unreasonable panic about grey pubes. Help! Of all the things that could potentially be bothering me about getting jiggy with a new partner it's this. I've got no grey hairs on my head. Why have they all grown there??!! I know rationally that if he's decent, no bloke is going to bat an eyelid. But I can't help imagining that there'll be a horror-struck pause as they venture near the silvery granny annexe.
I can laugh about this but it gets to me a bit, words of wisdom / suggestions that don't involve Clairol appreciated!

I think if you don't want grey down there the only option is to remove by shaving or waxing.

crosbystillsandmash · 21/05/2022 16:18

I'm sorry but 'granny annexe' made me snort with laughter Grin
I'm 51 and starting to ponder this too?
Dh couldn't give a monkeys either way but I need to feel ok about how I look as I age!!!

tuiblue · 21/05/2022 18:42

I'm glad that yr DH doesn't give a monkeys either way @crosbystillsandmash rightfully so. Hopefully by the time any new suitor gets to the annexe they'd be distracted enough by the other events going on not to care. But I dont like it. Also, they seem to have lost some of their natural bounce and a lot of them just kind of straggle. (Pubes, not suitors)
I am not sure about waxing. I shave or hair remove the edges but something tells me the plucked chicken look with salt and pepper stubble will be worse!

I have grey pubes. I have silver hair, so shouldn't surprise anyone really! It absolutely doesn't put my man off, far from it and mine were grey when he met me. He couldn't care at all :-)

If it bothers you, shave them off. Or keep them - you can always remove later

You have a few options, and hopefully one that will suit you. How thick and bushy are you? Is it widely spread or quite neat and compact?

Namechangednorth · 22/05/2022 07:09

@tuiblue I suspect any suitor isn't going to worry about a few grey hairs, more delighted they have managed to get to see them in the first place. However, don't discount going bare. Most men love the look and it is also a lovely sensitive feel for the woman. If worried about the "plucked chicken" look then try it out before getting to that stage. However, I haven't suffered from that and I used to shave but then moved to waxing and both are fine

tuiblue · 22/05/2022 08:18

Thanks for the replies everyone 😀
@sxround I suppose it's quite compact and also not quite as thick and bushy as it used to be. But more of the silvery hairs are on the inner difficult to get to bits. Typical!

Go with what makes you most comfortable then. If not a major inconvenience, who really cares?

HowlongWillThisTakeNow · 22/05/2022 15:31

Wouldn’t bother me at all.
@tuiblue how would feel about a guy who was going grey downstairs? Would it put you off .

Inthesameboatatmo · 22/05/2022 17:51

I use hair removal cream and take it all off front and back. I'm mid 40s but I've had grey hair and pubes since my early 20s I dye my hair on my head so collar and cuffs wouldn't match. So tye best thing for me is to take it all off.

I’m early 40s and, looking in the mirror, l cant remember what l looked like with a bush, it has been so long ago, so l have no idea if I am grey, greying or not. I’ve even had people ask me to grow it but it’s not my style.

l would be concerned if it bothered someone though.

tuiblue · 28/05/2022 08:57

Thankyou for your replies, @HowlongWillThisTakeNow no it wouldn't bother me at all to see a bloke grey down there, but I suppose for me it's more in my head about grey hairs and what that might symbolise about an ageing vagina, which is not what I feel or what I want to project.
However I can happily report now that I neednt have worried ...the suitor was not in the slightest bothered 😆😬
@Inthesameboatatmo if you use hair removal cream are you using it everywhere, isn't it tricky on the inside parts??

StarlightLady · 28/05/2022 09:25

I have ranged over the years between shaving (use hair conditioner, rather than gels etc) , having a full Hollywood wax (effective but l don’t like the regrowth period) to Veet Pure Inspirations.

With the latter l tend to “coax” the hair away with a razor rather than the plastic thingy provided. My body is fine with it, but we are all different. Do the spot test first and don’t exceed the 10 minutes max.

@tuiblue. I use woo woo so it's safe to go everywhere in that area.

Shunter350 · 28/05/2022 10:46

Granny annexe... brilliant! Yet again Mumsnet hits the spot.
Well as a 57 year old chap ( for reference) I wouldn't give two hoots.
However I better assess my own downstairs department, what's another insecurity anyway..🤭

balalake · 28/05/2022 10:59

If they are bothered about your 'bush' whether you have one or none, then they are not for you.

I met my wife 20 years ago and we enjoyed sex a lot but she was very shy.
She has beautiful natural looking blonde hair on her head.
It was a surprise when I first saw her pussy to realise that she was a mix of white and grey and the hair on her head is coloured by a great hairdresser.
I loved seeing her white and grey pussy.
It tasted good; it still does.
Be who you are and enjoy who you are and let your partner enjoy it too.

Abhannmor · 28/05/2022 22:47

Man here. I like the idea of a silver bush. It must look distinguished. And sort of Magna Mater.

SmellsLikeMiddleAgeSpirit · 31/05/2022 15:42

Just make sure you do it in the dark! 😉 🤷‍♀️

Freddy12 · 01/06/2022 07:33

I really would not care at all
if Mrs F had any hair there it would most likely be mostly silver
have confidence he will love it as it is and I’m sure he will

JerkintheMerkin · 11/06/2022 20:14

Woowoo hair removal cream. You're welcome. 😉

j712adrian · 12/06/2022 21:11
