Sex after epiostomy

TrudiRussel89 · 13/04/2022 08:28

So me and my partner had sex last night I gave birth 2 weeks and 4 days ago And had a epiostomy and had stitches I felt ready as not really bleeding anymore and felt better down there
I didn’t realise I still had stitches inside me it was only as my partner looked down there after I realised what if I’ve made them loose I’m scared I’ll end up with a massive hole down there if I’ve messed up the stitches Really worried now

Try not to worry but I'm sure after an episiotomy it's recommended to wait 6 weeks. Risk of infection as well as stitches bursting I think, I definitely wasn't healed after a few weeks

There's a reason you're told to wait 6 weeks, particularly if you've had stitches!
In your shoes I'd get looked at asap.

I would get it checked and 6 weeks is how long you should wait.

Go get checked. You could have an infection or damage to your stitches. They say 6 weeks for a reason!

2weeks? Honestly you should have waited 4-6 weeks until your healed. Your given that advice for a reason.

Advice is 6 weeks for a reason! Have you been discharged by the midwife? If so go to GP
