Male Grooming question..

Hi,

I'm about to become single after a VLTR (20+ years) and recently met up with a divorced friend (we're both men), who's recently re-married. At one point whilst staying with him and his wife, he took me to on side and asked me whether I realised how much things had changed on the grooming side? I said 'not really' and he then proceeded to tell me that women these days expect you to have removed most of your pubic hair (ie balls , very trimmed elsewhere) and also 'round the back'. This was news to me - 'round the back' !! He then claimed that oral exploration of the back end was quite common and I should veet or wax that area too. He claimed that multiple women he dated after divorcing and it was 'normal' for people dating these days (I'm sure the married / LTR amongst you will be as shocked as I was). So for over 30s single/dating amongst you - is this level of grooming considered the 'norm' now or is this just an aberration??!? Any advice appreciated...

He’s winding you up.

No he's not.

Depends how old you are, and how adventurous you want to be. Not many over 50's would do all that, a few more over 40's, and more over 30's. Don't care either way as long as not a thick forrest, so whatever you are comfortable with, it's certainly not expected.

I’m afraid it’s true ish
But guys I’ve been with shaved down there and I’m now waxed
No more pubes

I've never been with a man who's had a bald pubic/bum area. Fortunately. It would turn me right off. I am over 50 though, so perhaps my opinion is irrelevant.

But then I like men to have a decent covering of hair generally Grin

Do what you like with your hair. Plait it, if the mood so grabs you.

I don't mind a trimmed man.

I dated a man who whipped everything off and I found it somewhat unappealing.

A thicket can be equally unappealing though so...

But I'd never express a preference.

As for 'oral exploration', I've never met a woman who gets off on licking a blokes arsehole so I think that's an expectation from men not women.

I’ve been with trimmed men and “all off” men. I’m not particularly bothered. But l do want a clean, not sweaty, groomed man. I don’t expect anyone to have an unkempt Brillo pad look. Nor do l expect ungroomed dirty head hair.
