Has anyone tried this? My boyfriend wants me to do this to him, insert something there. I wanted to know if anyone has done this or had it done to them? Is it dangerous?

Sounds like a great way to get a UTI

Sparkybloke · 12/01/2022 17:05

Sounds awful and pretty dangerous. I was once catheterised in hospital and believe me it's no fun...and a catheter is sterile and intended to go up there! As others have said UTI's are not fun and the tissue inside would be easily damaged by anything with a snag ..if anything gets stuck up there!!! Does not bear thinking about..at the least you would have some explaining at A and E and at the worst ...well best not even think...don't stick anything up there would be my advice...his or yours...

I think its a fetish though with toys you can. buy

Just looked on lovehoney. Some scary looking devices on there

curmudgeonly007 · 12/01/2022 18:33

It’s called “Sounding”
Not gender specific, & not for me either, just makes me wince and cross my legs

Look up Intermittent Catheterising or Self Catheter. They come in different sizes and they are lubricated. The men's ones are longer I believe.

It might/will bump into his Prostate gland, once in the bladder urine will flow, if it goes that far.
He will need antibiotics sooner or later. Good Luck

Aphrodite31 · 13/01/2022 04:05

Sounds bonkers and I'd say no. He could get seriously hurt.

Sparkybloke · 13/01/2022 08:51

Well it seems it is a fetish. You learn something new every day they saySmile although not something I would ever do or want done but that's just me... Do ensure strict hygiene and only use toys designed for the purpose if you plan to try. It is certainly not without risk so you and your boyfriend need to be aware of the potential dangers...uti's, internal damage, things getting stuck...be very gentle...

Lianne51 · 13/01/2022 09:52

I don't think it goes in deep, its almost a fetish about liquids. He's said it only goes in at the tip and that it's something about it being personal/intimate.

Sounds awful, not having anything shoved in my japeye!

Janesmom · 13/01/2022 10:45

Haven’t done it personally but would second what others have said about risk of infection. From what I’ve heard, it is really important to take precautions such as learning to properly sterilise any equipment, wear disposable gloves, use lots of lube. Worth reading into all of this before you do it.

xpc316e · 13/01/2022 12:16

As long as the toys you might use are designed for that purpose, and sterile, then I really don't see what the problem is.

One man's meat is definitely another man's poison. If both people are willing participants, then why not give it a try.

Once again we have people here who are more than happy to voice their negative opinions about a practice they have never tried. The OP asked whether anyone had tried it, and whether it was dangerous, not whether anyone found the prospect of it to be bonkers, scary, or awful.

PS: I have tried it; it was an enjoyable experience, not injurious, but not one that I'd be hung up on having it done on multiple occasions.

Lianne51 · 13/01/2022 12:31

Thank you @xpc316e, I really appreciate your comment. I wouldn't want to do anything dangerous but boyfriend assured me it's not as scarey as imagined. He has done it to himself before.

William H. Masters, one half of the famous American sexologists Masters & Johnson, apparently had a rather famous party trick of inserting a toothbrush into his urethra.

Sadly, I have been unable to establish whether this was bristle end, or handle end first.

rwalker · 16/01/2022 20:46

Done it and feels amazing first of all you need to proper stuff make sure sounding rods are clean best way is to boil them in a pan . Loads of lube and don't go in too deep thats for the experts.

jamie85 · 17/01/2022 17:42

As a man who has had to have a catheter for months at a time and who has tried the DIY intermittent thing six or seven times per day. I really don't see what sensations one might get. Other than the very tip there is little feeling in there.
Size 14 is a diameter of 4mm Lubrication must be the key though.
Every device I've had was flexible plastic, the word 'rod' implies rigidity and makes be squirm!!

ragnarson · 19/01/2022 10:04

Sounding, which this is, is not uncommon in fet. There are even wearable sounds that fit inside a chastity cage for some. It's safe and easy if done slowly on either sex.
Sterilize anything before use and use a water based lube. He'll probably pee after so that'll help Prevent infection same as after sex. It's an enjoyable, if niche kink.
