My period has lasted 7 days & is still heavy on vaginal ring

Hi MN
Started the vaginal ring last Friday on first day of my period as advised.
My period usually lasts 3-4 days & is pretty light.
My period's been heavy for 7 days & is still heavy!! Anyone else experienced this?
Don't know what to do!
Was planning to see my partner tomorrow - we only get to see one another every 2 weeks so was hoping to spend a good few hours in bed! Gutted... anyone else experienced this excessive bleeding when starting the ring?
Haven't taken any contraception in years as been single for so long...

I've no experience of the ring but, as it releases hormones into your body, it's not surprising that you're bleeding more than usual. When I had the coil inserted I bled on and off for the first few months.

Never used that (never heard of it!) so no advice sorry but responding to give more traction so more people will see the post and can possibly advise. X

My instinct is to get medical advice even if anonymous if you don’t want to call your GP although I would talk to the practice nurse
