I have recently had chlamydia after my boyfriend thought he had been fully treated before meeting me but the tablets hadn’t worked, yes it was stupid of him not to get re tested but its done now.
Anyway I’m a bit concerned as when I caught it I had a week of heavy bleeding and painful cramps, I assumed it was a random period although I wasn’t due on at the time. The bleeding became spotting for a few more weeks then I was itching badly, I assumed thrush. I got sti tested and took the treatment and the bleeding and itching stopped on the last day of treatment.
I didn’t have any sexual contact with my boyfriend until a week after we’d both finished the tablets. Today I have woken up to bleeding and itching again. I am very overdue for my period as I rarely ovulate (not pregnant) so I’m hoping it is just my period, but can anyone reassure my their first period was like this after chlamydia or should I be concerned the tablets haven’t worked for him again I have it back?
The clinic told me to wait 2 months to be re tested which seems a long time, but these cramps remind me of the pains I had at the beginning. I really don’t want to be taking treatment again as a just in case precaution. Any advice?

If you didn’t have sex with him until he finished the tablets and he’s said they didn’t work, then I assume he’s infected you again?Having said that, it’s very likely he hasn’t taken the antibiotics properly because I can’t see them not working.
Please take care of your sexual health, neither of you should be having sex until you’ve both been given a clean bill of health.
