Constantly turned on and fed up!

Have NC'd for obvious reasons, and not sure this is the right place.

Started over a week ago, a constant feeling of needing relief. Not painful, just a constant sensation in the front of vulva.

Went to urgent care as I thought it was due to a UTI as I had a burning sensation after peeing as well. No sign of UTI and Dr said maybe Thursh. Didn't feel like Thrush but treated anyway.

Seemed to be getting better, but today I've just felt constantly turned on and I'm fed up with it as self relief not helping (not having sex as possible Thrush). Period due in four days. Is this pre menopause sign, I'm 37, Mother had hers at 41. Can't be an STI (DH and I been with each other constantly though I trust him implicitly anyway). Could be pregnancy, but very slim chance.

I just want it to go away, no fun at all! Anyone have any experience of this? Is it the heat?! Blush

This is a similar thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/sex/4262367-i-m-on-heat

Not sure about the pain/discomfort that you’re getting though.

Guiltypleasures001 · 21/07/2021 10:01

I had this op and was constant
Doctor was embarrassed I think as well

Sure it was peri for me full blown menopause now

Fuzzyduckduckyfuzz · 21/07/2021 15:52

Oh my goodness you have just described what I'm feeling like to a t!! I've been treated for a uti and thrush also. It's like a feeling like needing a wee bit im weeing fine

Fuzzyduckduckyfuzz · 21/07/2021 15:54

I've just turned 40 so now I'm wondering if this is a perimenopause thing or because I've just started mini pill

ToLiveInPeace · 21/07/2021 19:20

It's worth reading about pelvic floor dysfunction, which can imitate UTIs and cause various other problems. I'm perimenopausal and found that pelvic floor physical therapy and topical oestrogen have helped a lot. GP and urology dept were fairly clueless so I'd recommend doing your own research. I think it's more common than people realise.

Weirdfan · 22/07/2021 12:06

I think I'd try some d-mannose (miracle cure for UTI's, available online) just to rule out any urinary issues and then put it down to peri menopausal sex surge, which is definitely a thing!

Thank you all for the replies and suggestions. It seems to have got a little better, thankfully! I'm going to look in to the ideas here and check out that other thread. I do wonder if it's partly the hot weather doing things to me as well!

Hi @Icecreamsoda99 Just came across this thread and was wondering if it’s gone away for you yet?

I had the same thing a couple of weeks ago, it went away for a few days but now it’s come back. I’m bloody miserable with it Sad Did you manage to find a solution?

Icecreamsoda99 · 04/09/2021 06:11

@CakeBiscuit hello, sorry to hear you are in the same position. It did go away for me, come back and gone again. I think I found relaxing and trying to not worry about it helped, just knowing it would go away as it had before helped. Meditation and sleepy tea. I also found that that manual relief didn't help and tried to avoid that. Flowers I hope yours go away soon, it's not something that is easy to talk about and it's so miserable when it's going on. Mine did seem to be linked to certain times of the month and my periods have been pretty irregular so I'm thinking it might be perimenopausal. Also keeping busy really helped distract me.

@Icecreamsoda99 Thank you so much for replying, and so quickly!

I hardly slept at all last night after it seemed to be going away for a few days so I’m so grateful for your reply.

I keep trying to tell myself that it will go away and trying to distract myself. It does help but I’m not sure why it hit me so hard yesterday and last night. Can I ask how long it lasted overall for you? And has it stayed away since it disappeared the second time? Also, did you get any meds from the doctor or try anything yourself?

I’ve been reading about UTIs, thrush, pelvic floor issues, probiotics and all sorts because I’ve been feeling so desperate.

So sorry for all the questions Sad

Icecreamsoda99 · 04/09/2021 08:07

@CakeBiscuit I went for a UTI test which was negative, they said it could be Thrush so treated but don't think it made a difference. The first time it was about three weeks! Second time was about four days, it hasn't come back yet and that was a while ago now. The not being able to sleep was the worst. I put on headphones and fell asleep to audio books which helped distract, listening to something funny helped me. The fact it went away for you is a good thing I think and probably means it is hormone related.

And ask away, I don't mind

@Icecreamsoda99 Thank you again, you don’t realise how much it means to me that you’ve bothered to reply, I really appreciate it. I’m very emotional reading your replies (which probably indicates a hormonal thing too).

I’m going to try the things you’ve suggested and maybe some hormone balancing supplements too. Which sleepy tea did you have?

Icecreamsoda99 · 04/09/2021 12:07

@CakeBiscuit you are very welcome, I found it really difficult to talk about even to my husband as people don't get it until they get it! I use PUKKA Night Time and then listened to a distracting Podcast.

@Icecreamsoda99 Thank you so much, I’ll give both a try! Smile

@CakeBiscuit fingers crossed and positive thoughts for you! SmileFlowers
