DP and I have been together for almost 17 years now. 2 out of the last 3 times we’ve gone to have sex he’s had trouble getting hard. It’s never been an issue the whole time we’ve been together. My libido is often low due to a medical condition so you can imagine how disappointing it is for both of us when we are both in the mood. He’s always been horny literally every night. What c@n cause this type of issue. He says he really in the mood but can only get a soft erection.

How old is your DP please as ED can be an issue for older men, or those overweight or who drink too much

If it’s only happened once or twice, I wouldn’t worry too much, but if an ongoing issue, probably worth a GP visit to have a general health check, or sex clinic as those can be quicker

Other option will be over the counter viagra

Other general ED information is here

Also what happens if you use your hand (or he does), can he get a hard enough erection for penetrative sex ?

He’s not even 37 yet 😞

He isn’t overweight and doesn’t drink so we are a bit concerned 😟

I would suggest if it continues he go to the GP and just have a general health check. That said it's been a horrendous year for everyone and
I don't really know anyone who hasn't struggled in some way.
Maybe this is just down to stress.
I would take sex off the table and suggest just kissing and fooling around a bit without actual penetration.
See if that perks things up
