Candle help!

Can anyone tell me what kind/where to buy candles for wax play? I mentioned it to my partner and he said you need a special type of candle so you don't burn your skin?
He's clearly done it before so I could just ask him, but really wanted to buy them myself and surprise him!
I've had a look on the internet but I'm still pretty confused!!

You need votive candles.

Bondara do some nice candles for this. If you can get a UV light the colours look amazing

Brilliant- thank you!
I hope I enjoy it as much as I think I will! I'm so turned on right now thinking about that hot wax on my body, I hope I can handle the real thing!!!

Yes, you need special candles that burn at a lower temperature. You can also get wax play candles that turn into massage oil and can be rubbed into the skin.

Whichever ones you use, let them burn for a while to create a little pool of wax before pouring. And take care with furnishings ... my bedroom carpet got ruined! 🙄

the massage ones are a bit weird we've found. a bit too greasy on the skin for my wife's liking!

LH and Bondara do some great ones that just look like normal candles, the effect when poured is great (add some ice into the mix aswell, that hot and cold sensation is amazing!)

AmayaJ · 14/12/2020 11:23

Thanks for the carpet tip! (And the ice one...!) I have seen the massage ones. Maybe I will get one of those too in case I cant handle the wax!! I feel like I've built this fantasy up in my head so much- I dont want it to be a disappointment.

use to have a slender candle in my drawer to use as a dildo prior to DH ,sounds shameful now but was pleasent enough { blush , blush ), no Lovehoney back then .

@pinotPony if you put brown paper on top of the wax and iron it with a medium heat the brown paper will absorb the wax and hay presto- carpet restored 👍

PinotPony · 18/12/2020 12:45

Thanks @princessphoenix
Unfortunately, I tried that and, although the wax itself has come out, the red colour on beige carpet remains! 😱

Where is the wax going to go? Him? Her?

oldshoeuk · 18/12/2020 14:09

Feel free to do a trial run with a normal candle if you want to feel the difference, not nice.

Obviously the higher you hold the candle the less hot it will be when it hits.

Pull the wax off the bedsheets before washing. If you get wax on the dining table or similar, scrape it off with an upturned glass tumbler.

Does it make a difference?!

Not really. My life is so vanilla I thought this was just something madonna did once :)
