Boyfriends vanishing sex drive

My boyfriend of 4 years is 54 years old. We used to have a great sex life but the last year it has all but gone . He said he has no urge or desire at all and isn’t Interested at all in sex anymore .
I don’t know how to handle this as I still have a sex drive. Is it his age ? Is it something that I just have to accept. I’m guessing it’s like a make menopause but don’t know if it will pass or if he will be like this forever . He has said he will go to the doctors but never actually does .
Any advice ?

This year has been particularly stressful/depressing for many which affects sex drive.
Have you spoken to him about how he actually feels?

Yes but it started before this year - mid last year when he had a prostate issue .that turned out to be fine but it seems he never got the urge back .
We have spoken about it and all he says is it doesn’t bother him . He says he can’t give me what I want and that seems to be it as far as he is concerned.
I just don’t know how to deal with it

It's also common to lose your sex drive after a health scare.
He's probably not feeling very sexy, it's hard to get in the mood when you're not quite as happy in your own body.

I think you need to have a proper discussion about it. What does he suggest that you do? What would his ideal outcome be?

Then see where that sits with your ideal outcome.

Realistically, you've not been together all that long, I'd be considering what/who else is out there.

Have him go to the GP and have his testosterone levels tested - if they are low then there are simple treatments such as a monthly injection or gel which you apply to your chest and upper arms.
