How to hold eye contact?

Lets say im quite shy and I really hate eye contact, in general I dont like people looking at me. Safe to say my partner really enjoys it, how can I hold eye contact without it completely putting me off and feeling nervous.

It's not that important . He should respect you don't like it .
My partner does not like eye contact and for my it was initially something I loved and craved . I found it it a little unsettling he would look away or close his eyes during intimacy . When I asked him about it he said he is shy and eye contact has always been difficult for him . I respect he finds this difficult and have dropped the need for it . He fulfils me in every way so that has faded into insignificance. I'm a firm believer that lovers should work around each other and not try and change things about the other .

And to add : you hating it , finding it nerve wracking and off putting trumps your partner's enjoyment of it . He can manage without .
