Very low sex drive after baby

Is this normal? Our baby is 10 weeks, I'm exclusively breastfeeding and we bedshare. My third baby, his first.
My OH is keen to get back to intimacy and I understand that. Before pregnancy and all the way throughout we had a great sex life.
But now I just don't feel in the mood. Like, hardly ever.
I've just restarted the pill so don't think that helps either?
Any words of wisdom much appreciated.

Yes this is completely normal! I wish more people admitted this. I completely lost all libido the whole time I was breastfeeding (so 6 months!)
I'm not sure if it's hormones or Mother Nature's contraception because my periods stopped the whole time too. Was like going back to being a child!

The levels of Prolactin, the hormone required for milk production, in the blood also suppresses the libido. If you think about it, it is Nature's method of giving this baby the best start by allowing you to focus on it, rather than creating another mouth to feed.

Men also have Prolactin, and many of them experience higher levels after their partner gives birth. It is for exactly the same reasons.

So relax, it is entirely normal to have no sex drive after birth.

Aw thanks for your replies - I feel more "normal!" It just doesn't interest me one bit. And plan is I will breastfeeding for at least three years! Definitely don't want any more babies so it's not an issue from that side of things Grin

I wish my periods would have stopped! Returned back to normal pretty much straight away despite breastfeeding on demand both night and day!
