Anyone use this as a form of contraception? Am I bound to fall pregnant like all the horror stories I hear?

Have a read of taking charge of your fertility

We use in combination with condoms. As the fertile parts of cycle are obviously when I'm more keen on sex!

Other than the risk of mistiming it and ending up pregnant, the biggest problem for me with this approach would be that I’m most keen on having sex in the 6 or so days before and 5 days after ovulation (dh had a vasectomy so we don’t use hormonal contraceptives or condoms any more). I think most women’s sex drive is highest during that time so avoiding sex then would be awful... basically avoiding the best part of the month for the woman (at least in my experience) to have sex in terms of horniness and pleasure.

A friend tried it. She was intending to get pregnant the following year so it wouldn't have been a disaster but wanted her contraception stopped before hand. Didn't like condoms.

She didn't have to worry about testing every month. She was pregnant after three months .

So if it matters I wouldn't use that method !
