Does anyone use silicone?

DH and I don't use condoms and we have been using water based lube for the last couple of years. It's fine but has the obvious disadvantage of drying out which means I am more sore than I would like. I don't like using coconut butter, at least not the sort you scoop out of the tub with your hands.

Is silicone lube practical or just something for porn? Can you wash it off yourself and sheets easily? Do any women here use it?

I largely forget about it in terms of washing and laundry and yes, longer lasting than water based so works for us. Bad for silicon toys though.

I use both types -I prefer the feel of the water based one but silicone one lasts longer, however I find even after a shower I can still feel the silicone one on me

Try using a water based anal lube. They are thicker than regular lube and don't dry out as fast. Silicone is OK but I don't like the texture, it's almost like a coating on your skin and it can leave marks on bedding and clothing, like a greasy stain.

achillesratty That's exactly what I feared. We do use a water based anal lube from Love Honey currently. Maybe there are better ones?

We do, gun oil, its much better than water based snd you only need a little bit.

We've found the sliquid range very good. There's one in a pink bottle, it's labelled either thick or anal, and is thicker and long-lasting. Lovehoney sell it.

The durex glide silicone lube is nice, I've not used other similar silicone lubes but it's much better than the water based lubes I've previously used.

saleorbuoy Does it leave greasy stains on the bedding and can you easily wash it off your body? Those are my main concerns.

Are you using this for vaginal or anal sex?

We have both water and silicon based lubes from lovehoney. We only use for vaginal and for the occasional handjob.

From my experience, both will leave a mark on the sheets. However, they’re fine once they’ve been through the wash.

It's harder to wash off, but that's a side-effect of lasting longer around wet bits. Do not get any in the shower or bathroom floor, or it'll be like an ice rink.

It also tastes horrible, but that's the case with most lubes I've tried.

Using a towel deals with the mess.
