Hi all so I recently had my implant removed after endless bleeding for 6 months. I've now had a Mirene coil fitted for the last month and still the bleeding continues. Does anyone know if there is anything I can take to stop the bleeding or do I have to jt ride to. Me and my partner have quite a good sex life and this is becoming a pain lol

Have you ever come off hormonal contraception and used barrier methods instead? I found that massively improved my periods, TBH the happiest period of my sex life was when I was using the diaphragm (80s throwback!)

It does change throughout your life as well so the contraception that worked for you in your 20s can often not work in your 40s.

Stopping using tampons also improved things beyond measure. It's now pads, mooncups or sponges only. No bleach gets into my vagina, thanks!

I bled for about 12 weeks with the Mirena and then nothing at all for over 5 years. It was bloody marvellous. I'd give it a couple of weeks longer and then see where you're at. My bleeding just stopped suddenly and that was it.

Hi yes i will give it a little longer and see how things go. And apologies if this is tmi, but I recently had a weird stringy, fleshy, bloody thing come out at least 6cms long. Is this normal, I'm guessing it's just the lining shedding? Arghhh I thought this would be an easy contraception lol x
