NC for obvious reasons.

I discovered an unusual bump 'down there' today. It's about 3mm, it's yellow, it doesn't itch and there's only one. It's right down in the fourchette, just below my vaginal opening. I've been in a monogamous (I have been, anyway) relationship for the past five years. I'm terrified it's herpes, but have never even had so much as a cold sore, nor has DP.

It could be a Fordyce spot, or a sebaceous cyst, but I'm just absolutely terrified I've somehow got herpes. Can anyone who has herpes please please tell me what the other symptoms are? I can't get this out of my head, I'm obsessively checking my vag in the mirror every 30 mins to see if more have sprung up. I feel well in myself, no cold/flu symptoms or anything.

If it's herpes, can either of us have had the virus for >5 years? Or has he cheated? I'm absolutely beside myself

Need a hand hold if nothing else Sad

Hi! Sorry you're worried, OP . I had something similar a couple of years ago and it was a cyst (something beginning with B....). I was referred to local hospital and they removed it under local anaesthetic, job done.

I'm sure you already know this, but GP asap to put your mind at ease x

It's called a bartolins cyst but not sure I've spelt it correctly!
It's not contagious but will get very painfull.
Sit in a hot bath and try not to poke it! It will go on it's own but u can get some cream from gp if u need it.
Sympathies!!

Sounds like some kind of cyst.

If it’s at about 5 or 7 o’clock and 1cm in, then it is a Bartholin’s cyst. Look on google images. I have one which doesn’t hurt but is a hard white lump about the size of a small pea. GP says that cysts that develop in the Bartholin’s gland are common but that i should keep an eye on it: whatever that means.
