Can men carry on?

Hi there,
Me and my partner have decided to try for a baby I’m posting this in the sex thread though as I think it has more to do with that department.
When we have sex my boyfriend seems to carry on after he has climaxed (this is my problem) I’m worried maybe he didn’t!? How do I know ? My question is can men come and then carry on having sex.
I do plan on asking him but I want as much information as possible before I have what I consider (an embarrassing) conversation. (I’m a bit of a prude 😝)

Thanks guys

Yes it's entirely possible and differs from man to man.

Thanks for your reply! X

Misi - what does this have to do with trying for a baby?

JAPAB · 10/11/2017 18:09

My question is can men come and then carry on having sex.

It may well be rare but some men can have "multiple orgasms". Or there might be a smaller one before the final one.

But if he can still carry on even after ejaculation, he must eat his spinach. Never heard of that myself but I suppose anything's possible.

Gettingbackinthesaddle · 10/11/2017 19:31

I’m not sure if this is what you’re asking but my current DP maintains his erection for ages after ejaculation and I too was concerned he may have faked it Grin but wasn’t the case. Didn’t ejaculate a second time just took ages for erection to disappear and no blue pills involved either.

TheFifthKey · 10/11/2017 19:33

I’ve known men still have an erection after climax - not uncommon if they’re really turned on. I’d take it as a compliment!

cloudchasing · 10/11/2017 19:38

My dp stays hard afterwards for at least 2-3 mins. Very handy if you haven't quite got there yet Wink

TheNaze73 · 10/11/2017 22:27

This is the norm surely? Nothing to worry about

sunshineintheclouds · 10/11/2017 22:33

Yes, my dh stays "alert" until I want to stop whether or not he has "finished".
I know when he does finish though Grin

Only man I have been with that has done this though!!

That's why I married him Wink

MisiSam · 11/11/2017 05:56

Josuk- because i want to make sure that sperm is actually available? 😂

Thanks for your reply’s everyone I feel a lot better, I didn’t know it was that common as my ex who I was with for 8 years was different and I naively assumed that was the norm!

My current FWB/ partner (still in a weird, not ready to talk about it yet stage) has done this on a few occasions. Ejaculated, stayed hard and carried on for round 2 with no refractory period. He's a hound ;)

Carlz84 · 11/11/2017 15:40

My DH and ex have always carried on after they’ve come. I always take longer than they Blush. Sometimes my DH will come twice.

saleorbouy · 11/11/2017 16:00

Depends on the intensity of the orgasm. If it is not really intense then I'm able to carry on, either way my election lasts whilst I'm still aroused.
Surely you know if he's ejaculated inside you by feeling it and the wetness? Do you honestly think he is deceiving you...

MisiSam · 11/11/2017 16:27

No I don’t think he is deceiving me, I was worried maybe he had a problem? I can’t really tell if the wetness is him or me! I just don’t want to ask and make it awkward but judging by all of your answers it is normal and I’m going to stop worrying.

Once my husband had climax I can’t not go near him, he’s way too sensitive in that region!

lanbro · 11/11/2017 18:05

Strange that you can't just ask a man that you presumably love and are trying for a family with...?

user1499786242 · 11/11/2017 18:18

You're planning on having a baby with a man you can't even talk about sex with?

I would work on your relationship first if I'm being completely honest
I Mean that with no malice, but having a baby is world changing and you will have to talk about and experience things you can't even imagine .. like giving birth
So I would try to get to a stage where you are 100% comfortable with each other first

peachytacos · 11/11/2017 18:25

Don’t be shy to ask him op!
Best to start making these things normal now... after all it’s very common to poo during labour.... Wink

Have fun ttc!! There’s lots of good advice on the conception board Smile

MisiSam · 11/11/2017 19:43

I didn’t say I wasn’t going to ask him, I just wanted some advice first guys!

If he is taking Sildenafil , ie (viagra) then he will get another erection, or even keep his original one for quite a long time.

TDHManchester · 12/11/2017 21:08

Yes it is possible and i know from personal experience but surely you are ..ermmm...aware that he has ejaculated and couldnt possibly be faking it?

Adamadamant · 13/11/2017 13:41

Certainly nothing to worry about. When I was younger I could stay hard for quite some time after an orgasm. How I miss those days!

lovemylover · 13/11/2017 17:07

Not all men ejaculate, they can have a dry orgasm, mainly older men though I think

AlexsMum89 · 20/11/2017 22:13

My DH can ejaculate several times in a night. I think we got to 4 once but I felt bad after as he was a bit sore! Twice is common for him, but I think it's less common

Toffeelatteplease · 20/11/2017 22:19

Yes definitely this happens. We just keep going to round two. Sometimes round three. When we were younger.... I assume he always ejaculates but tbh sometimes it ends up so wet down there it's impossible to tell. Either way he seems happy. Me too
