If you're dh or dp withdrew from you during sex and you ended up getting pregnant, what were the circumstances? Was it during your fertile window? Did they start climaxing then pulled out during, so was too late?

Not sure of the OP's reason for asking this but i am reminded of the old joke: What do you call a couple who use the withdrawl method of contraception?

The parents!

How much detail would you like? 🤔

kuniloofdooksa · 06/11/2017 07:05

I think the only people who can answer this question will be those who only have sex once a month, who used this method and who have a perfect memory of the circumstances of each instance of shagging. I don't think the answers will be that useful anyway.

Are you OK op? If you are dealing with an unplanned pregnancy then Flowers I wish you all the best for the difficult decisions ahead. Don't dwell on how this happened. Work out what you want to happen next.

I think very few people know the exact circumstances of the time they became pregnant.
If you’ve had unprotected sex and you’re worried about pregnancy go and get the MAP we can’t tell you if you’re likely to have got pregnant or not.

I had fertility treatment for my first baby.
Exh and I rarely had sex and because we believed I was sub-fertile we didn't use contraception other then withdrawal.
I conceived my second baby that way.
The withdrawal was carried out in what I believe is the usual fashion.

Erm I know the exact details of me getting pregnant! We used withdrawal for about two years no problem, I would track my cycle. One day I hadn’t checked where I was and he came inside me (when I really want him to is when he shouldn’t 😹) I checked afterwards and it was the first day of ovulating, and I reckoned it would be alright!

I now have a 4 month old baby!
I made that mistake once...but if it helps, I wasn’t planning on a baby, I considered not having her, my life has changed entirely: but she’s amazing. It can work, if you want it to.

Voice0fReason · 17/12/2017 21:07

Withdrawal is not a method of contraception.
Having unprotected sex carries the risk of pregnancy. Ejaculation is not necessary.

As urine kills sperm its very difficult to get pregnant from precum - pregnancy from withdrawal means he didnt get out in time. Its worked for me for 6yrs now because dp is some kind of zen master with his cum. We've had one accident and no resulting baby even though we had no trouble conceiving when planned... Id only ever use the method with someone i knew and trusted and where it wouldnt be the end of the world if i ended up with a baby as a result!!
