Viagra for ED experiences?

Right. NC for obvious reasons, and I'll probably not post again as I'll undoubtly forget to change it back and out myself!

DH has just been prescribed viagra for low libido and ED. Anyone had experience with this and know what I should expect? Will it be a case of pill = sex, or is there more to it than that? I didn't think it would really help libido, but is that just my own ignorance? Thanks!

Ahem...

I've used it a few times when I've had trouble performing (or rather wanted to be certain I would be able to perform).

My understanding is it doesn't exactly do anything to directly increase your libido, but it'll hopefully give him back some confidence that will have no doubt taken a bit of a knock.

One pill about an hour before DTD (depending on the dosage etc) and it'll probably do the trick ;)

Viagra will make getting an erection upon stimulation easier, and for me, increases firmness, confidence and control. It will probably also decrease the time between erections, depending on dose and underlying pathology. Which is nice. Side effects are pretty common, odd mild headache, occasionally funny feeling eyes, but probably you'll be on a low dose for the first prescription.

I recently also tried Cialis, which lasts longer in the body, so you can relax more about when to take the tablet, I always find the thinking about taking Viagra an hour or so before planned sex a little presumptuous, Cialis takes this timing pressure off a little and just makes things more spontaneous and relaxed.

Viagra is good, it takes effect around an hour after taking it and tends to give a 4-5 hour window of opportunity before it begins wear off. I find food interacts badly and substantially reduces its effectiveness so depending on our plans will either eat about 2 hours before I want to take it or take it 45 minutes before eating.
In itself it has no effect on libido, it simply improves the ability to sustain a strong erection but the ED may be affecting his libido on a psychological level.

The biggest downside of Viagra is the loss of spontaneity.
