Coil hurting DH's willy during sex...help!

Ninja12345 · 04/09/2017 19:32

I need some advice on positions. I've got the small coil in and DH has complained a few times that he can feel it and it hurts his willy. I didn't take much notice Tbh as it was always a throw away comment. Recently he mentioned it more and I noticed the other day that there are chunks of skin missing from the head of his willy. He didn't realise either. But that's why it's more painful recently

I don't want to change contraception as we don't like condoms and we want to start for the next baby in the next few months (so pill etc is out).
So has anyone else had this? (I assume so) and what position helped? Or do I need to get it taken out?!

I'm at a loss as to how he's not noticed chunks of skin being gouged out.

But anyway. Go and ask your GP to snip the ends of the strings off. Easy peasy.

Me and gf also had this, doc said it was coil sitting low, but other issues led to change of direction pretty quick so it was taken out

Joinourclub · 04/09/2017 19:38

If you are planning on trying in the next few months why not just have it out now and start now? What difference will a few months make?

Toffeelatteplease · 04/09/2017 19:39

get the position and strings checked before you next have sex

Dp pulled mine out during sex. They think it had shifted a little first.there was much pain

PlopGoesTheWeasel · 04/09/2017 20:51

You mentioned that you don't like condoms - have you tried different brands and/or thicknesses?

PlopGoesTheWeasel · 04/09/2017 20:51

toffee ouch!! Shock

AnyFucker · 04/09/2017 20:56

Surely condoms are preferable to getting your cock ripped to shreds ? Is that even possible ?

Why not just go on the pill for a short period until you're ready to try for a baby?

dudsville · 04/09/2017 20:58

Jeeeeeeeez....... I did not know this was possible and I'm squirming for you all and your ohs.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 04/09/2017 21:00

I think I'd go and check all is OK with the GP.

Biggreygoose · 04/09/2017 21:01

Wait.... There were chunks of skin missing from his glans and . He. Didn't. Notice?

WTF?

Not sure that's possible.

AkimboLimbo · 04/09/2017 21:04

Get a Diaphragm. It will sit over your cervix and cover the strings. You won't need to worry about using spermicide as you already have adequate contraception.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 04/09/2017 21:05

A soft cup tampon or sponge would work well too.

Ninja12345 · 04/09/2017 21:07

Thanks all. Will book an appt for the GP to get it checked.

Genuinely he didn't notice the gashes. I was very shocked when I saw them.

Good point re condoms! I don't want to take the the pill as it took ages for my periods to come back after coming off the pill.

If he can feel it then it's not in place correctly and you need it checked!

Fiona1984 · 04/09/2017 21:10

Ouch! I'd be worried that it is being expelled by your body. Get it checked by your doctor.
I always worried DP would be able to feel the strings, but he says no.
I've heard horror stories (think it was on TV) of a coil string getting stuck to a PA ring and getting ripped out.

MrsGWay · 04/09/2017 21:11

I had this and it took 3 appointments to have it removed. I don't know if it sometimes went back up but on the last appointment I asked the doctor to check without the speculum.

topcat2014 · 06/09/2017 19:58

I am crossing my legs tightly, and thankful DW does not have the coil..

Good luck, anyway, OP.
