Bit embarrassing but... burning pain during and after sex!

For well over a year now I've been having a very uncomfortable burning/stinging pain just on the inside of my vagina (sorry, gross I know) It started a couple of months into pregnancy so I thought thush, got tested by GP who said thrush and used pessaries to treat but it kept happening so I went back to GP who didn't examine just said prob still thrush cos it's hard to shift when pregnant, keep using pessaries until you've given birth then take the tablet to treat it. So that's what I did and I swear I've taken about 5 of the tablets in the 5 months since having my baby and it's still happening. I don't have any symptoms unless I have sex then straight after I get the horrible burning pain which lasts for up to two hours!
I've been consulting Dr google and now am worried I might have some warts in there as I've felt lots of little lumps and the symptoms fit. :/ Anyone else have any experience with this?

Has your partner been treated for thrush too? They can carry it with no symptoms and give it back to you. Std clinic might be the best place for a proper check up rather than the gp.

Your GP sounds like an idiot so I'd second the suggestion of going to the GUM clinic. If you google "GUM clinic [your town]" you should find the nearest.

PS Vaginas aren't gross! They're awesome!
PPS If it's warts they are easy to treat so don't worry :)

It could be Bacteria Vaginosis (bacterial version of thrush). If it is; your DP needs to be treated too because he will keep re-infecting you if he doesn't get treated. TMI Alert!: with BV you might have a discharge that smells 'fishy'

I get this after using condoms. I didn't think anything of it but when I went into care I was wearing latex gloves and got the same sensation on my hands for hours after, even after washing. Could it be something like that? Lube/condoms giving a bit of a reaction?

Thanks for the replies, I've found my local clinic so will ring on Monday. I find that the pain is less if using a condom. My partner has taken the tablet too so I really don't know whether it's thrush or something else, hopefully will find out once I get an appointment as over a year of painful sex is more than enough! I'm at the stage where I won't go near my DP for fear of the pain.
Vaginas are awesome!... until they go wrong then they are no fun at all! Blush

Endometriosis can cause pain during/after sex. What are your periods like?

WhatTheHelllIsGoingOn · 02/06/2017 20:15

Irregular but very light, only bleed moderately for 2-3 days then just spotting for the 4th day. Only recently started getting period pains that feel like lower back ache.

I have had this for over two years now! So many tests and thrush tablets. Try and cut down on the yeast and sugar in your diet if you can. Hot wash all your underwear. I have to shower straight after sex too to help try and keep it at bay.
