Sex after total hysterectomy (problems)

I've hesitated posting as I don't want people who haven't had a hysterectomy presuming they'll have this issue - I'm hoping this isn't usual.

DH and I have never had much sex (I have a higher sex drive). He has aspergers and takes fluoxetine to help him cope - but it has a side effect of dampening his ardour. So I'm lucky now if we make love 4-5 times a year (partly my fault as I couldn't have sex when pregnant as it was too painful and caused bleeding). He also finds condoms have a bad effect on his erection so thought my hysterectomy was good news for him in that respect.

I have had several dodgy smear results and further treatment, so the consultant recommended I have my cervix removed at the same time as the hysterectomy (endo and other problems). DH is now finding it too 'roomy' up there so our sex life has died. The extra room kills off his erection.

Neither of us is happy with this but cannot think of a solution (other than non-penetrative sex - which is ok, we just don't find it as satisfying). I don't think I want to be celibate for the rest of my life, what can we do?

I'm sorry I can't really help but just wanted to say I'm sorry you're in this predicament it must be hard for you.
I know the subject is sex related but I was wondering if your question might be better placed under 'health' rather than a sex thread. I only suggest so because many people can't comment on sex threads if they have been a member for less than three months and I'm sure there must be people here that can advise you of personal experiences
I hope you get the advice you seek Flowers

Has he got a really massive cock then? Because average sized cocks don't generally hit the cervix. Do you think it's just that he knows your cervix isn't there and he's basically imagining it feels different?

What position do you usually use? To get more of a tight fit, try starting off in doggy position, then get him to put his legs outside of yours, so your knees are pressed together, then slowly lower yourself so you're lying flat on the bed. Because your legs are pressed together, the vagina becomes tighter and increases sensation for him.

I have also had a total hysterectomy, and haven't noticed any difference. The top of your vagina will have been sewn up so if anything there should be less room, as I understand it, there isn't just a gap where the cervix was

Have you considered going to see a pelvic specialist physio? There may be exercises you can do for your pelvic floor to offset any looseness?

I've had a hysterectomy and not had any problems re extra space, do you think it may be psychological?
