Vagina appearance

Have name changed for this.
Are you ladies 'happy' with the appearance of you're vagina?
I'm 24 and a size 8-10 but I feel like a have fat around my vagina (where the pubes are) if that makes sense. So if I was to wear a bikini I would look like a had a fat one. My actual bits look ok. Just the area around seems quite fat and puffy.
Makes me quite self conscious.
Thoughts?

Thank you Giddy for reporting and MNHQ for deleting a vile post.

My first post was rather harsh in tone, but it wasn't aggressive or insulting, unlike some of the replies to me.

Some people clearly think I'm just being pedantic, and if people don't care about the words we use, I don't think I'm going to persuade anyone - you either care or you don't.

But here is an explanation, FWIW. The OP is just one of many women and girls who unfortunately feel ashamed of their genitals. And I think that educating ourselves about our body parts, including what they are called, what they usually look like (within a normal range of natural variation) and what their function is, is an important first step towards letting go of that shame. I blame society for failing to educate and empower girls and women when it comes to our own bodies, but I also think that as individuals we can challenge it by educating and empowering ourselves.

I made the point very bluntly to begin with, and I may deserve to be challenged, but I don't deserve a load of abuse.

Oh please l, the paragraph in your defence is just unnecessary. You were undeniably rude.

If you thought the op and other women were in need of being 'educated' you could have simply explained without being rude

Ditsyprint40 · 25/09/2016 11:51

OP - your lady area sounds fine!!

NameChange30 · 25/09/2016 11:55

"Sanctimonious bullshit"
"Oh for fucks sake"
"catty and mean"
And a vile post that was deleted by MNHQ.

But my post was rude Hmm Right.

AkimboLimbo · 25/09/2016 12:03

It's not rude to point out the truth. If an adult woman doesn't know that the vagina is internal (and therefore doesn't have an "appearance"), the vulva is external and the "fat bits" are labia, she needs a biology lesson.
It is rude when you have completely disregarded the words that the OP used that make it clear that she wasn't confused on that matter. Around, not in.
"feel like a have fat around my vagina (where the pubes are) if that makes sense."
And a vagina may be internal, but it most certainly does have an "appearance". Internal, not invisible. My mouth is internal, I can still see inside it. And if I said I had food around my mouth, you wouldn't think that I meant inside it would you.

I knew what the OP meant, I just think it's a shame that adult women don't understand the basic terminology to describe their own bodies.
Like confusing labia with mons pubis?
She could have called it her foof for all I care. If you knew what she meant, then a sarky reply doesn't help anyone and just makes you look nasty.
If everyone understood exactly what the OP was saying, why should she be "expected" to describe her body that pleases you?

Blimey!
Well, OP hope that's cleared it all up for you!

I wouldn't say myn is fat, but padded, everyone is different though. Some may have extra fat there than others? Just like some women have larger labias than others.
