CAtching Chlamidia

My sister has been having gynae problems and this has lead to her being diagnosed with chlamydia.

She was tested in March and it was clear, tested again the end of April and she was positive.

She was distraught as she is married and hasn't slept with anyone else.
Her husband admitted cheating.

However he has had his test and the results have come back clear???

How can that work?

I think it can lay dormant, so she could of caught it from a previous partner and it's only come out now! Google it but I'm sure that's right

Test has a false positive rate of I believe 1%? So she needs retesting if really honestly no possible exposure. If this is also positive then she is infected and one of them is lying ( as the risk of 2 false positives would be 1/100 x1/100 which is minute).

Chamydia isn't like warts I'm afraid.

She has had treatment now so can't retest.

We were thinking if the person he cheated with found out she had it, she could have told him and he has already been tested and treated?

Could he be a carrier but not have the infection? is that even possible?

No test is perfect but usually more likely to get false negatives - possibility 1. Possibility 2 is he's known for a while and has been treated already, while crossing fingers not already passed it - we already know he's a liar so he could have concealed this too.
