Sharples Secondary Bolton

MY children have just been offered a place at sharples school as we have been turned down a place at our preferred school due to overcrowding i was looking for some feed back about the school as the ofstead report doesnt look to good . Thanks for any help

Did you want Turton? (Sorry I knew someone who refused to move to Bolton on the basis that was the only decent non-religious school)

Can't help I'm afraid, but if you contact Bury LEA, they'll have places left over with something better....

I teach in the LA and I wouldn't be happy sending a child there. Turton is massively over subscribed, possibly due to canon slade being so selective it takes from across Bolton. Could you try for one further away but not impossible like Rivington and Blackrod or Thornleigh?

I had a friend who went to Thornleigh and did very well there, if that helps.

I agree, I've just found the ofsted report you referred to and it sounds frightening.
